I don't watch FiM, but I do play MLP:CCG and absolutely love it. I'd like to invite pony friends to a safe place and maybe you can help me understand what the characters on my cards are doing. I play a mainly yellow Fluttershy deck with a little orange Apple Jack because the "Too Much Pie" card is ridiculously OP and I want it all! I've only played in one tournament, but placed 3rd out of 10 and received a nice little Twilight Sparkle lunchbox (where I keep all my pony cards now.) Who's your favorite, and why? I'd like to get all the Mane characters and try them all. <3
I liked the show Season 1, but after Faust left the quality took a major hit and I stopped watching. It dropped from a bit less than Powerpuff Girls quality to Post-Kimi Rugrats Quality. One of my friends that kept with it said late S2 and on got better, so I might try picking it up again at some point. Bloomberg is the best overall, because he's big and strong. Pinky Pie is the best "mane" character. She uses cartoon logic wonderfully and is generally the most "fun" character. Spike is the second best pony, because he's a boss.
I don't play the CCG, all my local friends prefer video games to board or card games. But my favorite pony is probably Pinky Pie. Mostly because she reflects my inner personality. Who doesn't love being goofy and fun all the time?
I dunno, I used to get kinda weird around Pony obsessives, but frankly I have MASSIVE tendencies to obsess over stuff (characters more than franchises though, ie my former PitGirl thing / current Poison thing) so I can't really judge. It's a fairly decent kids show for something made these days? Nothing spectacular, but I guess it's better than a LOT of the crap CN / Nickelodeon dispense. For the record, my favourite ponies are these.
I hear ya @kvalheim - It's a sugary sweet kids show, but gosh darn it's totally adorable. I just love the pony problems and them coming together as friends to help each other out. But yah, you might wanna get your blood sugar checked after watching, 'cuz it's pretty sweet.
A friend of mine from WoW made me watch the first season. It was pretty good, but nothing I'd really obsess over.
