Hi everybody and sorry in advance for my english, i am from France ^^ I want to deliver my experience on Planetary Annihilation, feel free to comment my suggestions. Being a player of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander, i had great expectations for this TA-like game and phew... i'm not disappointed I enjoy very much leading massive armies, annihilating entire planets... i'm having a lot of fun playing this game, it has great strategic possibilities and i enjoy it very much thanks to you. That being said, i want to share a list of features i think will greatly improve the PA gameplay. 1) Even though PA has a great diversity in type of units, it does not have enough units per type, i mean ten tanks... ten bots... we need moooooooooooore, a lot of matches feel the same because we always have the same units on the battlefield (i win 90% of my matches thus i know what is good against my opponent units). I know, since the game is in beta (gamma ?) that there is a balance issue, i know you are working on it and i know this is very difficult (and boring i guess ?) task, but i also think that before working on a fair balance, you should add some more units. But maybe i'm not aware of it and you already planned to add more units before the game release. 2) Commander should move faster. It is useful in combat and build faster than tier 1 constructor but it is too slow, really. Moving from one point to another takes ages (go through that @$*%! teleporter, hurrryyyy, booom, nooooooooo ^^). Also, we should have a way to hide it, while we have the resources we should be able to pay it a way to cloak itself (yeah TA player's talking ^^), it's annoying to be easily sniped by laser plateforms even when you have tons of umbrellas, anchors and avengers, i think that's not really fair. I know we can make it patrol to avoid that but it's still annoying i think. 3) There is a really huge need of a tier 3 power plant, costing a lot but delivering a great amount of energy. It's a bit annoying to have to build so much advanced power plants / solar panels. 4) About naval ships now, they also are too slow, even the tier 1 scoot boat is slow and on water planet you'd better make torpedo defense and bombers (with a bit of micro) than ships. 5) To be fair and balanced, we need the possibility to teleport planes and ships. Guys starting on water planets have a real disadvantage comparing to guys starting on land planets and they gots the same issue as these latest ones even when they want to colonize another water planet that's a non-sense. Also, where are the suuuubs. 6) Halley costs nothing comparing to the damage they cause. I think smashing a planet should not destroy every units on it but only the ones inside and around the crater. It would still be the ultimate weapon since it's not stoppable once it has been launched (except by damaging the halleys but i guess it would be too difficult to compute a new trajectory for the moon once it has been propelled) and with the largest damaging radius. But maybe for now it's more a balance issue, when you compare the cost between halleys and nuke, to be fair you just have to raise the cost of halley (a lot) or to raise the required number of halleys to launch a moon. Halleys got too much life, you need two nukes to destroy them ... but i think it's more a nuke problem not being enough powerful, for instance a commander with full life should not resist to a nuclear blast. I think that's all ! For now ... Thank you very much and keep up the good work !
1) More units are coming, don't worry! 2) Cloaking Commander coming soon, and I don't know.. the speed's alright, he's mean't to be big and bulky. 3)Ew, t3, Basic Pgens are more efficient for cost than Advanced so just spam as much as you can! 4) They really are too slow.. We hope that'll be fixed as well. Also subs are broken, they need to work on them.. the game had them but they couldn't submerse so- yeah.. Also, Naval still isn't a first class citizen and we all hope it will. 5) Statera balance mod is /going/ to do this (hopefully) I don't think Uber wanted them to be teleportable for their own balance reasons. 6) Planets will not always do complete planetary destruction, smaller planets having less aoe is in the works! (Also remember you can set how many halleys each planet takes to smash so you can raise the price yourself in that way!)
1) ahhhh that's very nice where have you get that news ? 2) Very cool that they planned to allow cloaking. I still think it needs a speed buff around 20% though ^^ 3) Actually your answer demonstrates perfectly the lack of a real advanced power plant ^^ 4) Oh really, there were subs before, ok. Hope they will bring them back 5) I admit i don't like mods :/ i hope devs will do something about it, at least for planes. 6) Very nice Thank you for your clarifications !
Nukes cost metal, halleys cost metal income. In a short skirmish, a halley will almost always be the better choice, but in a longer game, it might be a better idea to bombard your enemy with nukes.
Bleh I don't remember, it may have been a livestream, a post, etc... But I do know they were saying that it would probably be the only unit that could cloak. (Also, did you know mines are cloaked visually for units? Radar allows units to see them!) 1) It's just known, they said the game should have 100+ units or something. 2) Maaaybe... 3) Well.. it's actually because ALL T2 units are less efficient for their costs than T1 (I heard T2 is OP again now so that may not be true anymore), that's just the balance direction Uber is taking. 4) They should be, hopefully, can't wait for naval to be a first class citizen. 5) No mods? </3 Well alright, but like I said.. that's mean't to be one of the downsides of air since they can travel practically anywhere BUT other planets! And naval is pretty limited and that's the goal I suppose...

Hate to burst your bubble, but it was spoken of more recently. Possibly not confirmed, but Uber pretty much said the engine needs cloaking available in it and that it may enter the game with a unit or the commander. Looking for link now. It was confirmed in their 11 hour livestream that they are adding cloaking to the game and the commander will get it (obviously at least for starters to test the commander having cloak)
