I think that there should be a new class with this setup. Main Weapon: A gun that can heal turrets and bots and pros. Oh, and it should be able to hurt other people too. Secondary Weapon: Some kind of close range weapon, it needs to do a lot of damage when you are close to someone. Blue Skill: I think it should make turrets more powerful, like some kind of in game mod or hack. Yellow Skill: I think it should be some kind of mine or turret, mostly used for area control, maybe some kind of base that shoots fire. Red Skill: Some kind of beacon that you can throw, so that something from the air can strike the ground. I think this class would mostly support your team, and help them when they need it. I'm also thinking about posting about this new class idea: he is really skinny, and his main weapon is some kind of rifle...
I let stupid class suggestions get the better of me and I posted this in my annoyance. My point is that this game doesn't need any new classes or weapons. 90% of the class ideas someone has on these forums are already covered by a current class. A class with high mobility? Assassin. A class that increases a turret's effectiveness? Support. A class that can take a lot of punishment? Tank.
Games don't NEED a lot of things, but they're added due to WANT. For all that matters, there didn't need to be 2 classes, there didn't need to be more than 1 map, there didn't need to be more than 1 bot. There are two things fans want: 1. To fix whats there, and 2. More of the stuff they already love. To me, asking for characters is a compliment. It means that the person asking has found no technical issues with the game, balance, glitches or otherwise, and feels that the only thing left is to add more things to fill in those small nooks and crannies of unfilled requests.
At this point, there is no need to add any new classes. The game is just a little bit too green, and I'd say the class balancing still needs work as it is. I wouldn't be opposed to adding another class or two later down the line. Yeah, all the basics are covered, but that doesn't mean they can't come up with new classes to find new roles to play.
The entire forum hasn't been able to come up with a new class idea that plays differently than a current class. My guess? It isn't going to happen.
Uber makes the video games, not us. I'll leave new class ideas up to them. I would eventually like to see a pistol class, though.
I don't know. It's a shooting game. Pistols are guns. I mean, if it was there, it's not like you'd HAVE to use it... It would be nice to get a new class or two down the road though. It would give us nerds who will eventually have every class protag a chance to work for some more. Give us something new to master. I'm not saying now - but like a year or two from now if the game is still kickin', it'd be nice.
