I have thinking for a while about what my ideal class would be to suit the way I play the game, hopefully I nerfed it down to something resembling equal to the existing classes. I would call the crusader class and it is basically a Bot Herder with strategy breaking abilities, fast moving with decent close-to mid range abilitys, weak at long range. Crusader Class Attributes: Similar to the size, health and mobility of the sniper build. Appearance is kinda like a Medi-Evil Knight or those little guys from castle crashers. Devoted to the sport of MNC with fanatical zeal. Primary Weapon: Assault Cannon Primary Fire - Fires missiles similar to the Jackbot XL, they hurt like hell if they hit you, but are easy to dodge if you see them coming, the longer the trigger is held, the more powerful and fast moving the missile, A five second charge is enough to destroy minor turrets and fast enough to make a seasoned pro soil themselves. An over charged cannon would eject its clip as a safety device, so no walking around with a full cannon. Alt Fire: Blast Shield - When the alt trigger is held down the pro takes cover behind a blast shield built into the cannon which greatly reduces damage from all head on attacks but slows the pro down and offers no protection to side or rear attacks. Primary fire cannot be charged in this mode so you have to choose between offence and defensive usage. Secondary Weapon: Huge Twin handguns with big *** bayonets Primary Fire Shoot Huge handguns one after the other Alt Fire Grapple, two very quick deep slashes with the bayonets followed by your pro leaping backwards to avoid any counter attacks, guns blazing. Handguns have a 20-ish shot clip each, quick reload, short-mid range weapons, combined power similar to the snipers SMG. Ability One: Turbo The pro gains a very brief period of invulnerability (no more than 2.5 seconds) and a massive running speed boost. The speed boosts lasts for about 5 further seconds or until the pro performs any action or takes any damage, basically it allows the pro to get quickly to where he needs to be on the map and make a difference, this is a defensive skill. The invulnerability allows the pro chance to run away from certain death or break out of a base during a lockdown. Ability Two: Nano-soldiers The Pro releases almost invisible flying nano soldiers that latch onto friendly bots and turrets in their close vicinity and quickly heal them back to 100% (but never over heal them) Enemy pros caught in the blast radius will also be attacked by the nano-soldier, creating the same ability blocking effect as being close to a scrambler bot for 2-3 seconds. At level 3 the soldiers will attack an enemy pros combat systems, resetting all their ability timers to 0. Ability Three: Explosive Charges. The Pro has sneakily planted a large explosive device into his chest cavity, when the pros heart stops beating, half a second later the explosives explode with similar force and range to the Support Airstrike. Charges slowly so that after a death you must be alive for at least 40-45 seconds to re-activate.
Seems to lack weakness. Takes down Pros easy (nano-bots), takes down turrets easy (5 second charge), and has 2 insurance plans (Turbo/Explosive charge) to cover his semi-low health. Armor/Skill regen endorsements could cover that even more, easily.
I hear what your saying, i am always open to suggestions and under no illusion that this class will ever appear as anything other than a thread on a forum, so any discussion is all good. But to defend my idea a little , The Nanobots only take away the opponent's abilities , not their weapons or the grapples , Unless the crusader happens to be in the middle of a crowd of friendly bot's, it just drags an encounter down to a gunfight, I balanced this out by not giving my pro a direct offensive ability to counter with, apart from dying or running off. A gunner/sniper/assault with an upgraded weapon can take down the weaker turrets in about 5 seconds, an up-close assassin in even less. As for the explosive charge, the support class can do as much damage three times over from a distance and not even have to die, but my guy could get to the places an airstrike just cant reach.
