Anyone else notice some people have trouble playing the game unless they are host?
I've been noticing that when your host you seam to have a rate of fire advantage over anyone.

I would assume the host has a pretty great advantage. Wouldn't know though, I never play on host.

Even aside from the host. Being across the Atlantic from the host when the opponent is not has a really big influence too.

anyone ever notice that if your an assassin, you need to NOT be host to win?

any game has a host advantage on xbox live. at least this game has some capable hosts that make the lag as miniscule as possible.

That might be true for you, but it is not for others.

If i experience too much lag I quit. It's just that simple. There are way too many non laggy matches out there.

i pull host. i have cable, its good enough to host on. i usually play support, and dont rely too heavily on weapons anyway, so i dont take much advantage on being host at all.

if your connection is good, pull host and start a game, that way you can gurantee a continuous game and a good connection, or get a friend to so the game wont have sudden host migrates or dragging-lag.

the host has to be good to win, they have to be good for the game to be fun. but you dont personally hafta be that host to win, as long as the host isnt god-aweful.

all xbox games have this prob. CoD and the bunch. not so much streetfighter or guitar hero cuz the games hosted partially by all the players, and each player holds their own game-data which means the game speed and snappyness depends on the players connection but it wont cause one player to be faster than the other. but if a 12 person shooter did that, the game would move a frame a second, so there being one host that collects data makes it at least appear that much smoother and fluid.

That is dependent on your circumstances. I play from the UK, by evening over here MNC is flooded with Americans that hog the host spot, thus my original statement. Having a host against you in a match is one things, but most of my opponents still get a faster connection to the host than I. There is a notable difference between playing early in the day (against others in/near the UK) and late (against Americans)

If I'm host, I'm fairly sure I won't stutter step and my lunges are consistent, especially my lunge-grapples..

On the other hand, smoke bomb jumping is a problem when you're host.

I like to play in my own host just so i dont have to go through 3-4 host migrations, i dont feel like i get advantages by having host but some classes seem to work much better i.e the snipers head shots register instead of taking sometimes two shots directly to the head, and the tanks jet gun is perfect, i dont really notice it on anything else.

one big advantage host has is that if he is running out from cover, it actually takes as much as a full second for him to come out of cover to you, but he is already out and shooting on his screen.

When I pull host, I pick Sniper and watch as I magically nail 3x as many headshots.

I've noticed that games with you are normally lag free and nice and stable in terms of host migrations. This explains it. And yeah host migrations plague this game and is a great reason to host.

When I host the advantage is noticeable for just about everything, even down to stuff like jetpacking. Everything just feels more responsive and immediate and any auto weapons seem to kill slightly quicker. The reason I don't host if I can avoid it is that I sometimes notice framerate issues. The frame rate will drop to about 5fps very occasionally, and not like the normal framerate problems you get during OT. I have a good cable connection for download, but think my upload is fairly limited, so I assume that's to blame.

I pull host and sit in a lobby by myself for 20 minutes. :(

If the game gives me host after a migration, yay Rail Gun! :p Then everyone leaves and I sit in a lobby by myself again. :(

If you're using wireless on your xbox, you've got no business being host. The connection will be fast when the lobby sets up but as people join and the game starts you'll start getting packetloss like no tomorrow. You could spend 500$'s a month on your broadband, but the moment you drop it down to wifi, in regards to hosting, you're wasting your $$$. People are well aware of this on all the other big multiplayer xbl games. There are exceptions obviously, but not many.

That's right! My "FROM AFAR" tag cam from a point blank rail gun shot on an Assassin stuck in a corner. I forgot about that!

When you're host, the rail gun seems to gravitate toward things you aim at. Like, outside of the reticle.
