More things I'd like to see in PA

    Biomes:
    • Urban Areas with roads that would improve speed on tracked / wheeled vehicles, Tall Buildings that can be reclaimed for metal, comparable to the classic TA Map, Town & Country.
    • Swamp / Marshland that would slow tracked / wheeled vehicles.
    • Extreme Hills / Mountain Regions with supporting cliff - water transitions (really just because I think that beaches always allow access to the water for amphibious units, having a vertical cliff before meeting the water every now and again might make it possible to build your base with its 'back' up against the ocean for defence).
    Concepts:
    • Traditional flat map support (for mods that wish to recreate older games on the newer tech, for arguments sake it could just be a flat planet orbiting the sun much as it does now but with a fixed camera so you cant tell.)
    • Biome Changing, this is probably going to take some explaining as I'm not sure what any of the technical terms for it are. But the idea is this;
      After Nuking a lush grass land or forest biome, It wouldn't be a very habitable place thereafter so to represent this a change over transition from 'live' to 'wasteland' biomes when an area is nuked or otherwise destroyed with similar weapons.​
    • Building Replacement / Upgrade / Build-on-top-off system
      So this is a weird concept to explain, but its already in the engine at this point. The ability to build a laser tower or any other defence on top of wall sections, It might require a rethink of the wall model to match the base of the defence towers or vice versa, but it would make defending your base a lot easier as you can build a simple barrier to defend your base early or quickly at low cost, but then revisit that defence and add weapons to that barrier. I know its not much of a thing to just build the defences behind the walls, but meh... Its still something I'd like to see. :p
    Units:
    • Subterranean Drill Unit
      Something like a super weapon, very expensive to build and time consuming, a large 'building' (not something made from a factory, but not strictly a building either, it can move.) that drills to the core of the planet and detonates some kind of weapon causing the planet to explode from the inside out. :)
    • Repair stations for land, air & sea. Think of the air repair pads from Total Annihilation that would repair aircraft while they were on a mission, The difference being with the land and sea versions that would require the unit to be manually told to be repaired. In the case of land units, tanks and bots, they could be transported to the repair facility by air transports which are guarding the repair facility.

      I Imagine this would work by having to select the repair facility, click the special order and target the unit(s) you want repaired. any slave transports guarding the facility will do their best to fetch the units that need repairing and put them back where they came from when done.

      Naval units would probably have to return to the 'dock' on their own initiative as I'm not sure that air transports carrying ships is a thing.

      Air units could of course fly themselves to the repair facility just like they did in TA.
    • Non-VTOL aircraft, I just think they look damn cool, at least a Non-VTOL animation for take off from carriers. ;)
    • Resurrection Units, I guess this ability should just be added to the commander or standard fabricators but it seems clear from the lore that the commanders can repair their machine friends back to an operational state. Game play wise it would simply allow you to repair destroyed units on the battlefield assuming there is enough left of it. Because the factions all share the same unit set I don't see any reason why that cant include repairing your enemies units to work for you instead. :D

    I completely reserve the right to change my opinion on all this. In addition this is not a direct request for the features described above... just some things I personally would like to see :)

    remains of towns and cities are possible.
    but traditional flat maps are out of the question, pa is about conquering and planets
    Resurrection units are also possible

    More biomes will likely be added, but they're a low priority.

    Traditional flat map support is possible. Won't be added at release. Will be added through a mod or added later on.

    Upgrades for units, commanders, and buildings won't be in the game.

    Drill unit has been mostly rejected by the community. I'm not a fan of the idea.

    Repair platforms will likely be added.

    +1 for resurrection units.

    Although that will require more wreckage to be left after battles. Currently most units explode and don't leave a wreck behind.

    Resurrection units were added into T1 bots in Balanced Annihilation (on Spring) and it works really well, also makes control of wreckage fields an important factor.
