Just a question from somebody (me), who is really (I mean REALLY) interrested in the whole moon base features: When will we be able to build moon bases and shoot our units with this awesome "unit-cannon" at the enemy's base (like we all saw in the trailer? I dont need a specific date, but I would REALLY like to know, if it will be soon (in alpha) or later (in beta), because this is one off the most amazing features in this game. With best regards McNik
That probably will not be until closer to beta. Right now the focus is getting everything to a solid, stable, and balanced base level. Once that has been achieved, the other features will begin to be added in, and given the rate at which they have been fixing problems with alpha I would say those features will be added in rapid fire. I believe they probably have at least a basic system in place for those things already (not in game, just in dev) but they would need a lot more work before it was even ready for alpha. So the bottom line is that it will come, but it probably will not be for another month at least.
Something like this will definitely be added in during alpha. Definition of Alpha: playable, but not feature complete, not balanced, lots of bugs/crashes Definition of Beta: feature complete game with some bugs, but few crashes, balancing in progress Since the whole moon base, orbital layer thing is a feature (and one of the core ones at that) it will be in the alpha, and hopefully soon because there will surely be many alpha like bugs to fix regarding that feature before it's ready for beta release.
Considering how important orbital will be for gameplay, I'd bank on it showing up sooner rather than later since it'll probably generate its own variety of bugs once we have the existing set of bugs worked out. Of course, I would think that the current "feature incomplete" stuff like submarines and nukes will be finished first before orbital. I see Beta as the time when we'll be testing stuff like Galactic War, clan wars, etc.
