I'll be DISAPPOINT if Scott Pilgrim wins, because without the movie tie-in, that game was not very remarkable.

Im sure SP will win because of its popularity due to the movie.

I have to admit, I'm usually biased in favor of multiplayer competitive games. You're probably gonna be playing this far longer than anything else on that list. I'll admit that SP has tremendously good music, though. It's almost worth buying just for that.

not rly, if they vote that over mnc, they are either anime freaks (like im an anime freak, theyd hafta be bigger ones), or being convinced in some other way than popularity, fanbase, game duration, and flexibility.

either way, if they win then the award, like other obvious shams awards, doesnt mean anything. i love how everything i like doesnt win crap, so im probably bad luck lmao... well you know who to blame wontcha?

I disagree. After Geometry Wars and before Monday Night Combat, Scott Pilgrim was my Arcade game crack.

It doesn't need the movie tie-in, really. People (excluding myself) just never knew about the comics until the movie came out. That's probably what hinders that particular series.

And Bro, Scott Pilgrim isn't anime at all.

If MNC won in that category, it'd be a HUGE upset, given the track record of the VGAs.

- Scott Pilgrim has a larger chance of winning because it's from a super franchise, nevermind that Paul Robertson HIMSELF did the sprite work (Paul > whatever the name of the guy who draws Scott Pilgrim is)

- Lara Croft has a larger chance of winning (even more so than Scott Pilgrim) because it's from a venerable franchise.

- Costume Quest has zero chance of winning, because despite evidence to the contrary, Tim Schafer's work and the Spike VGAs are anathema to each other.

Ultimately, it's a popularity contest on par with the Grammy awards. Alan Wake in only category and utter lack of Bayonetta on that list gives a lot away.

Way to read a whole bunch in between the lines I posted. Where do i say it's anime? Stop projecting.
My opinion on Scott Pilgrim is that it's a painfully average (though lavishly produced) game.
