I havn't seen this mentioned but on the latest build on Linux there is no green starting zones. I have to click randomly until Start Annihilation appears.

This is using primusrun and --software-ui

Also the metal is now highlighted but always shows dots when you have built on top of one.

Enjoying it more and more but keep getting stomped by AI :(

Most likely you have "Cinematic" mode enabled. Open "Settings" screen, "UI" tab and disable it.

    Genius! Thanks!

That also solved another problem with icons not appearing when zoomed out.

Now if only the mouse and black boxes can be solved.

It's will if you get UI work without "--software-ui" and then apply workaround for open source drivers.

Thanks. You did give me help on that before but I've not had the time to figure it out
I don't want to pollute this thread but I am running with proprietary nvidia drivers on an optimus laptop and software-ui as far as I could tell is the only way to get to the actual game via coherentui. I do this

    primusrun ./PA --software-ui
ctrl-p (to show debug into and see the screen)
then create a game, once in game I press ctrl-p 4 times to get rid of debug. Works fine but just annoying black boxes flicker on and off when things get hectic.

But I didn't think there was a resolution to optimus and coherentui to date.
