Mini map?

Will there be a mini maP when you are On a planet considering its hard to see the whole battlefield when on half is on the other side of a sphere? I know spore managed to make a pretty good mini map.

Considering that you can make multiple windows, it will be easy to set up a view of the other side of the planet (or another planet) and make it your 'mini map'.

I love that! Multiple windows will be so nice. You can micro manage two different groups of units without having to move your view. but the minimal feature would also be nice because even two windows won't give you a full view if a planet

I remember this coming up in another thread, basically it's very hard to map a sphere onto a flat plane.

Also with strategic zoom you can zoom out, see everything, and then zoom back in again. It only takes a second and you can get a much better idea of how far apart everything is. I am not sure we need a minimap.
