I made a video as a test of my speaky speaky. In the future I might make some PA videos and want to make them as high a quality as possible. Any feedback you have would be great, particularly the sound and voice (I'm getting a new graphics card so the video will change, currently I can only record at 720p whilst playing). The mic is a cheap analogue, would USB be better and if so what would be a good one to get?

    I've written some tips.

There's an annoying beep in the background. :-(
Your voice is a little quiet. Speak louder.
I'd also recommend talking constantly – but you did a fairly good job at that. If you watch other casters, you'll see that they're constantly talking about what they're doing and why they're doing it.

Great start though! The two main things you want to fix is that beeping and to talk louder.

    Looking forward to more! :-D

I'll get a better mic. I can't hear beeping but I can hear a lot of static, maybe that's what you mean? I'll try and speak louder, maybe make another test video before trying something proper.

    Thanks for the feedback.

It's more like a high shrill tone.

The tone sounds like interference in the mic cord. Try uncoiling it and keeping it away from other electronics if you can.

    What mic are you using?

I have a Shure SM58 plugged into an external sound card, which is quite an expensive setup just for streaming purposes, but I also use it for music-related purposes.

In my experience, USB microphones cause more problems than 3.5mm jack microphones.

Ah yes I can hear it. The mic I am using is awful, cheap headset from ebay I got for teamspeak. I have found a proper mic, now just need to get a soundcard and way to plug it in. Thanks for feedback.

edit: Some of that sound could also be coming from the desktop. It's next to me at head height with the side off.

It's the optical mouse. This was made by lifting the mouse off the pad:

Unfortunately, if the cables aren't touching then that is a problem with electrical interference inside the case. Some software might be able to filter it out, but it will probably never go away completely. I have had to deal with this too.
