I have been working on a customized Smart watch tablet phone.. Specs.. OS: Android 4.0.4m (Custom) allocated rom space 512mb ~ approx. 190mb rom space free still CPU: MT6577 Mediatek 1.2ghz dual core (underclocked to 1ghz to stop overheating issue) GPU: PowerVR SGX531 DISPLAY: 1.5" 240x240 TFT ipod nano screen, 2 point capacitive touch. RAM: 512mb Storage: - 512mb internal storage + 2gb embedded sdcard. Cellular networks: - 3G: WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz , 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz Wifi: b/g/n Bluetooth: 4.0 Camera: 3mp (5mp via inerpolation) 640x480 video recording Battery: 700mah Li-ion battery (custom) This nice little watch/tablet/phone runs a full android 4.0 with a UI that i have customized to run at 240x240 resolution and can run many apps from the app store (tho many apps don't work with the 240x240 screen res, there some that are updating to support this resolution). It performs better than my partners Motorola xoom.. lol Antutu benchmarks it at 11250 points when running at 1.2ghz, and 8940 points when running at 1001mhz I get about 3-4 hours of use as a entertainment toy, watching the uber livecasts on youtube, surfing the Uber forum and playing some games like Riptide GP2 and Raging Thunder 2. If i use it as just a watch and only use it for short periods of time i get about 15-18 hours out of a single charge, enough to last all day. It works as a standard mobile phone or a viop phone using either the 3G connection or wifi. It's best use is a google calander on my wrist.. lol, no more missed meetings or appointments. I also like having a watch that i can set an unlimited amount of alarms on , i have 3 kids i need constant reminders for everything now And another great thing, now when i walk out the door i rarely forget my phone as it's always on my wrist.. haha. here's some pic's (click to see full size ones) My boot screen My lock Screen Dragging the lock icon down and letting go free's up ram .. how nifty .. lol Slide the lock screen to the right to show lockscreen widgets (sliding to the left bring up the camera) The home screen Slide to the right on from the home screen to get search icon settings and toggles Slide to the left from home screen to get CPU governer control and Battery widget (Battery widget is not in this pic but i have added it now) The app draw Here it is on my wrist so you can see how big it is.. More pics coming soon.....
Ok, after conclusive testing here's what my watch CAN'T do.... 1, Shoot lasers...(cool idea but would drain battery too fast .. lol) 2, Contact the Starship Enterprise, (I have slapped the watch face many times yelling "Beam me up scotty" and still nothing ). 3, Time travel, (I was short on the cash and got the model without the flux capacitor).
You have nothing to sell to me. It needs to do at least 2 of the above three. Also Scotty probably won't accept your request because you're not on official Federation frequencies.
But can it play PA? all seriousness though- looks good. How did you make it etc? very interested to hear
Yes, through VNC Viewer software on watch and VNC server on PC. Has no real benefit being 240x240 but using cola colins "n Screens" mod i can make a small 240x240 window in game that i can view nicely through the watch.. I'll be changing over to "Air Display" and using a second virtual desktop being streamed to my watch as a place to put the mini game window for my watch to view..... I purchased a Pre-release EC309 series smart watch, one that is unlocked and rooted. It's a prototype version, one of the first of this model made, manufacturing date 14/1/2014.. I opened it up and had a good ol perv at its internal workings and replaced/upgraded what i could with what i had available at the time.. (Better quality Ipod nano screen touch panel, better Li-ion battery) I have also remade a customized android 4.0 ICS, it's still needing some work to get bluetooth keyboards and mice working, but everything else works great. There's more info on my work here on the xda-developers forum.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446530&page=10
No lasers?? Oh that should be fixed asap. At least add a nice red dot laser for kitties to chase! Just looking at the size, it might be manageable to play some Toy Rush. We don't have any devices this small to try it on so you could be firsties!
So, you could set it up where you have a whole-system view on your watch while you play the game, and as you play you occasionally check your watch to see if it is "orbital time" yet or not... ...Not gunna lie, I envy you. Also, you have pretty much sold that watch to me now, even though I have seen and wanted one for a while now (since 5th grade would you believe it, my classmate had a few hundred dollar wristwatch that had satellite uplink and multiple computer interface tools, like international time and gps)
I was considering it, but it's a costly business venture.... I have been in contact with the manufacturer and i can order them in batches of 100+ units, but it will cost me over $15,000. Other issue is , there are a few other watches of similar style hitting the market very soon, They are the "Omate TrueSmart", "Neptune Pine", "AI Smart Watch", "sWaP Social S11" and the "HOPU Smart Watch".... The AI smartwatch, sWaP social s11, and the HOPU smartwatch , are all almost identical to my watch in stats and design... (i think they are basing their watches off of the same prototype i have its an EC309 smartwatch mainboard, and the only major difference is the pre-installed embedded software's..) So i don't think it's really worth me going into the market selling them. But i will happily make new OS's and firmware updates for those people who do own compatible watches (mt6577 based). that should keep me happy. I'm currently hunting down all the applications on all of the other smartwatch devices (Gesture Control, GPS running buddy, android device to android device push notification software's) and trying to roll them all into one super awesome OS for my watch.. I'm also adding in heaps of extra goodies (much like a CynogenMod)..... Side note... My MaxWare OS is the only watch OS to have a desktop styled android OS with functioning desktop widgets, like standard 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich... I feel Special .. lol
