Massive Online Meta Game Similar to Boneyards?

Being an original lover of Total Annihilation, I'd like to see something come back:

I don't know how many of you remember, but long ago Cavedog created something called Boneyard. It was a massive online meta-game for Total Annihilation where you could choose to fight for the Core or the Arm factions and try to take over the galaxy. All battles were online against other players. Contested planets were conquered or defended based on the outcome of all the battles that day on the planet.

That's the idea of Galactic War, it was inspired by TA Boneyard. It'll come to multilayer some time in the future for some epic clan wars spanning over weeks, woot!
