Has this been discussed before, I don't know. Honestly, I wish I had the time to know. Normally, I use three commands to select the units I need. ctrl+a = air forces on that planet ctrl+l = land forces on that planet ctrl+n = naval forces on that planet Is there a keyboard shortcut that includes all three of these? So that I can select all military units of a given planet? For example (A for All), ctrl+A = air, land, and naval on that planet ctrl+A = ctrl+(shift+a) Kind regards, Mark PS: By the way, the above commands used to apply to the entire system. Thank you for fixing it to apply to the selected planet!
I wish I had started using these from the start! I only recently started incorporating them into my games, and they're so useful. Coupled with the HotBuild 2 mod's extra selection capabilities (e.g. I use ctrl+x for all air units, and then I can press t to select all fighters, or press r for all bombers), it makes for much quicker responses.
One thing I wish was possible was to shift-press numbers to be able to select multiples of certain groups. I don't imagine it would save that much time but I've found that handy in other RTS games.
I don't like selecting ALL combat units because then when I give a move order my fast units move too slow. Nothing like a bunch of bomb bots moving at the speed of an inferno. What I'd really like, and TA did this, is the ability to set a factory (or group of factories) to a control group and have all units that come out of that factory be put into that control group.
You can also double click the quick select buttons on the bottom left (single click selects all on screen, double click selects all on the planet). You can shift click to combine selection.
This is the best thing ever. Well, I mean I'd still like ctrl group factories, but this is good enough for now.
You can?? I've never managed to get it to work... Does it need judicial application of the ctrl button?
