The latest update will more than likely focus on bug fixes and the implementation of the latest U3 Engine changes.

My thing is that MNC needs a marketing push. I'm not asking for new maps immediately but a gradual tightening of gameplay mechanics. For instance games like TF2 and Protal are tight. The objective is clear and, in the case of Portal (which had 14 developers), no gameplay mechanic is spared.

MNC's main goal is to get the moneyball down by using a number of factors to tilt the flow of cash and environmental hazards in your teams favor. I can't say that MNC is a game that should change because it is unlike other games of its genre but it could stand to be more fine tuned while keeping its heart and humor.

MNC is a PC game on Steam. It has the potential to be a popular game with more maps and a bit of time but that requires a sales boost. If not soon then never.

We had a sale, newbies got stomped and lost all interest.

Even so, everyone's been a newbie at some point. Some will eventually pull through and stick around.

It's getting dull seeing the same odd 10 or so people posting on these forums all the time. :(

Perhaps servers can have a player level restriction as well, instead of just the current star one. Then maybe we can have proper 'newbie servers'.

We need mod tools so the weight of all this map pressure and stuff Is lifted of Uber's shoulders. Then we can start giving something back,

True but now many of us are good map designers or have some experience under our belts.

I'd like to discuss things like community approved maps that Uber cleans up and makes official or something like that but I'm not sure how many of us are good at that thing.

I like to draw and when I think of locations I get a lot of inspiration from the areas I frequent but I cant model because I use a laptop. I wish I had someone to exchange map ideas.

It'd be nice if Uber could launch another competition like they did with Smedleys. Shows there's still signs of life, and keeps the community involved. Things have been awfully silent lately. A blog article or two would be encouraging enough.

if they did another free weekend it would be good if they could force newbies to play on certain servers, say they have to play on newbie servers until x amount of game time has been played. This way they would not quit cos of stomping.

Kotay has a point. The free weekend was something but there need to be some creative changes on how newbies are interested in the game.

Lets speak theoretically here. If there was a new free weekend what would need to be changed? What would you as a player do to promote the game to newbies. What worked and did not work in the last one.

I mean there have been some balance changes, a new map, bug fixes and Mikey Cantor but not much has changed in the world of MNC.

Custom maps are what keeps multiplayer games alive and we got promised to have an editor soon. It seems that Uber time is worse than Valve time, in Valve time "soon" means from 1 week to 1 month and in Uber time "soon" means 3 months or more.

    But hey.
Uber at least don't break the game just like Valve did.

New update to Team Fortress 2:
    - Add more hats
    - Break more weapons
    - Add more bugs
(They release updates in less than week!)

New update to Monday Night Combat:
    + New taunts
    + New skin
    + Balances
    + Fixes

And yet the game still has quite a number of bugs that occur too often, and has the problem of being regarded as not having enough content. TF2's updates may be renowned for always fixing one thing at the expense of breaking another, but at least they are showing there's something happening in the background.

Right now, there's been no official news regarding the heavily delayed modding tools, and the progress on the engine change is behind a veil of silence. We simply don't know what to expect or anticipate for the next update. At least 'leak' some news or something to spread excitement.

I think that uber should have made the bots their gimmick on the PR campaign instead of the characters, or to combine those too (kind of like warcraft-2 man vs orc box cover, but make it Man VS Robot)
people just seeing the characters, shrugging the game off as a generic class based shooter not knowing what it really is

The next update won't have an engine update since we're still working on that and it's probably months away. It'll be mostly balance and bug fixes with some minor new content.

Are you going to try fix the most important bugs?
Loosing skills in weird moments (while being grappled) or Levitation Glitch (jackbot)
