This thread is for people to discuss future map ideas for when the game is eventually finished and/or in a state to allow for stable games on multiple planet systems/big planets. You can throw ideas out here.

You can also show off any planets/planned systems you currently have for forum feedback.

    As an example:

My map idea is one based off of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which are, in order:
    1. Conquest (a ice/earth planet)
    2. War (a desert planet)
    3. Famine (a water planet)
    4. Death (a moon planet)

These orbit around a planet called Hesturinn, which is icelandic for 'the horse.'

Here is an imgur album about them:

I'm still trying to decide on their biomes.

That's not really the same thing (Planet size contest) ...

The thread isn't about size contest anymore.

It's gone on some tangents, but the overall theme is still massive planets.

I don't see how a thread in which map ideas are generated and a thread where actual maps are generated are duplicates of each other.

This isn't really a duplicate of that thread; that one is concerned with making big planets, and as far as I can tell by going over it, it doesn't seem to be changing into something like this.

Aside from that, does anyone else have any ideas?

I'd love to see a game in which there's a gas giant, the moons of which are of various 'terran' biomes.

    Same here.

In relation to that; I have been wondering whether we will be able to 'supercharge' the size of our gas giants, due to the fact that they are a non-playable space (apart from the He3.) Would that work, or would it just lead to massive amounts of lag?

No actually that should work, as pointed out in the size thread, generating planets with 0 height range allowed you to completely blow the lid off the limit

they don't use much ram or CPU and if the planet doesn't even have playable terrain then you can basically make it any size you want for minimal resources.

The 4 horseman idea has been updated; or, to be more specific, the fourth horseman has been updated. It was originally a moon biome, but now it is a metal planet biome.

On another note, I'm hoping to see the return of options like resource control and possibly biome scale.

i would like to see, if its possible, 2 planets and one moon, the planets closing in to each other once in a while, and the moon changes the planet he circles.
