I'm not really sure what to call it really, but I find it excessively cheap how I can stand on the top ring in the center (where the jump pad from spawn will take you) and just bounce shurikens/grenades/flak/whatever off the column that holds up the spawn ring and actually hit the moneyball when it's down from complete safety. Of course because it's cheap doesn't mean I'll stop doing it until it's fixed though as I wonder whether this was intentionally designed to allow this or not. Just figured I'd bring it up, apologies if this has been addressed.
I think there is another area on the back door side (base left) where a Sniper/Tank can damage the Moneyball without actually going around the walkway. I saw a teammate standing on the lower level, just in front of the upper ring, that leads to the back path. It was a Sniper and he was juiced and firing towards the base. Shortly after noticing it the Moneyball was destroyed and the replay didn't show any teammates in their base so I assumed it was the Sniper's work. I had forgotten about it until now as I was never able to confirm the glitch but since you started the thread I might as well add it. I'm too tired to confirm it now so I'll update this thread tomorrow.
Bouncing grenades off of something is a glitch/flaw? and yes the back pathway has an outer wall you can stand on and shoot the moneyball. Any class can get there. When the game ends the camera points in the direction of the wall so you can usually see Pros standing on the wall.
I know about that one but this was from the bottom level. Perhaps there is a gap in the glass panels or something.
I never said glitch, but flaw. Yes, I believe that Steel Peel is full of them. One should have a line of sight to be able to damage the Moneyball. But that's just my opinion.
There a tons of spots to bounce projectiles at the moneyball. On every map. Pretty sure its intended.
I'm okay with all the ways to hit the moneyball on steel peel considering it is the most turtle friendly map in the game. There IS a gap in the glass on steel peel from which you can hit the money ball. It is very visible and can be shot back through very easily (unlike the glitch where snipers/tanks shoot through solid glass.)
You pretty much have to do this for all maps, since turrets don't do crap right now. Steel Peel, as broken as it seems, is not bad. It just changes the way you have to play the game for that map. It's a nice change of pace sometimes.
I would assume every map has crazy bounces that can be pulled off if you want to take the time and learn them. Personally, this is one of the few tactics that I would consider cheap. I liken it to the people that play MW2 and have memorized exactly where to shoot the noob tube to get spawn kills.
With the tanks product grenade you can launch it right over the glass walls and it was make it to the moneyball. Example on Grenade III standing on the upper platform over looking the middle I can toss the grenade right over their glass walls and hit the moneyball, if it bounces right. With prod.nade 3 I can always hit it.
eh it's not that bad When I see an assault hitting our moneyball from their spawn door, then we have a problem.
