He is recording/streaming his progress. Maybe it will be smoother now that he has experience. Anyone interested in UDK development in general (accepting that it is outdated with new unreal engines but there will always be legacy programs on it), this is an interesting watch. _________________________________________________ Archive of Old "Volcano" Informative circa May 2014: http://www.renegade-x.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=73575 Links to a dev's work making a UDK map for RenX, a redux of an old C&C Renegade map "Volcano". Not a duplicate and he chooses some visually appealing changes like the texture of the rock actually being a volcano and not random chunky brown boulders, and the lava making more sense instead of being generic. I mainly posted it, because he is a UDK novice, it is like watching a monkey make love with a football when he uses UDK to build the map. Definitely both a learning experience and an informational piece on how Totem Arts devs (at least that one) makes the maps in their games. It is pretty enduring I give it that. Wonder if anyone here is familiar with UDK and find watching this painful, or if anyone is interested in UDK work for a map in a game semidesperate for them.
I'm a complete f*cking novice at UDK, despite my first map I ever made being for UT2004. Could be interesting to watch
