Most people either hate Lazer-Blazers or haven't played long enough to learn to hate them. The issues: 1) Ineffective 2) Easy to destroy 3) Take up a valuable turret nub 4) Easy to farm for juice 3 is the big one for me. Because they're cheap and largely worthless, bad players tend to occupy valuable turret nubs, and though I haven't seen it happen, you could hypothetically grief your team by doing this, and for barely any money. Here's my suggestions for fixing the turrets: 1) Lower the juice gain from eating turret fire (especially while deployed.) 2) Make it possible to convert a lazer-blazer to another kind of turret. Maybe it costs extra, or maybe it costs less because you already paid some money. Whatever the case, by letting someone run up to a Lazer-Blazer and build a ShaveIce, Rock-it or Longshot in its place, Lazer-Blazers stop being worse than worthless and start being what they ought to be: a cheap, crappy turret that you build as an interim measure until you can get some proper D up.
At least read the post before you try to dismiss it out of hand. If your opinion is so authoritative, be nice enough to explain it. When you just say "nope; wrong," it's really condescending. They are literally worse than nothing and capable of being used to grief your team. The only way that is "what you pay for" is if you were paid to build them.
I just wish they'd go back to how they were when the game first launched. Of course, back then, they were economical and rockits were ridiculously expensive. Now rockits are more economical and laser blazers are a joke.
i think it was just right back then now near the end of the game people are able to throw up lv3 rockits all over the place like it's no big deal, and those things are ridiculously hard for most classes to deal with
Wasn't that the whole point of the rockit changes? To not have one person waltzing through them like they never existed.
Yeah, they were good changes. Wasn't the upgrade cost from rockit 2 to 3 something like $1000 and 1 to 2 was $600?Man, why not just take my moneyball why you're at it? It's hard to tell how good rockit 3 were back then because you're not always gonna have $1000 on you. Rockit 3 now definitely feel like a $600 investment ($1050 total) considering it'll probably be near overtime when you get it up. Hard to imagine laser blazers were so good at $125 for a full upgrade. That's less then upgrading a skill to level 2. Now spending that $125 will only give an enemy $35-25 and even put those $500 juice machines out of business with practically free juice. Man, looking at how rockits and laser blazers have changed is like, inflation or something. Perhaps if they really want laser blazers to be cheap and economical, they could raise the price at each stage by $25 while making their damage output actually good.
Level 1 Rockit does 4x more dps than Level 3 Laser. The Level 1 Rockit will also have more health, cost less money and finish building in half the time. Uber, don't you think laser blazers deserve some tweaks or completely reworked?
rockits used to be 800 from 2-3 i believe, rarely ever saw them.....but in blitz, that's a different story
I've contemplated this before. By itself, it's a decent $25 investment. And will promptly give the turret nub back fairly soon (so you can put something better on it). The problem is that people will upgrade them - then they stay alive long enough to keep the nub occupied but not long enough to stop a Pro. Bringing it back to this level might be a good idea, but I think it'll only make people use Ice and LS more.
