Will cool stuff like +MAKEPOSTER, +SING, +CLOCK, and +BPS be made available in some form? +MAKEPOSTER is the important one here, as it makes awesome screenshots a breeze. It's something that I think would be really awesome to have for a game like PA. Essentially a built-in function to take a high-resolution screenshot at the current level of zoom with max LOD on structures, units, features, wreckage, etc. Makes taking screenshots of sprawling battles and big bases a breeze, no need to pause the game and then manually tile shots together with a third-party image editor, and you get all of that great detail without running the game at system-crushing settings.
In TA, +MAKEPOSTER ALL created a gigantic screenshot of the entire map. Just +MAKEPOSTER on its own did a default resolution one that didn't capture the whole map.
+SING makes your units sing when you click on them, +CLOCK put a gametime clock in the bottom right of the screen, +BPS showed network stats. There were tons of other ones too, basically just neat little console commands. I had no idea. That's even better.
Yah I only found out about the ALL part this year. There's a pretty comprehensive list of the TA + commands here - including dev mode stuff: http://www.tauniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42484 I like +contour 10 - helps for bumpy/hilly maps to figure out where you can build. +showranges +dither and of course.. +shootall
+Dither was sooo good because it helped on those low contrast / low saturation maps where fog of war was nigh impossible to tell from normal terrain.
Wrong topic before: Was there a +makeposter for Supreme Commander? It would be neat if you were zoomed out all the way in strategic view, and typing +makeposter will let it create a ginormous screenshot (multiple megapixels) which allow you to zoom in your image editing software of choice all the way into the battle!
Not that I know of, unfortunately. It's a shame, too. Say what you will about the game, but the battles were of unprecedented scale.
