I try to be a team player. I usually like to play as Support, Assault, Assassin in that order. But I will wait when people are initially picking their classes to get a good look at what other people have chose. If I see two other support players, for instance, I will go with Assault or Assassin depending on the other classes that have been taken. However, occasionally I will go back to base and notice how our turrets are just being wrecked. I'll check the score, and sure enough we no longer have any Support classes playing. I would like to switch to support. However, why should I be penalized for switching classes halfway through the match? You don't get any exra cash when switching, and you don't keep any skill points. I /think/ you might keep your cash on hand, but I haven't verified that. I suggest one of two fixes. Either you get the points in an unassigned pool ( Something like 4 level 1's, 3 level 2's, 2 level 3's) that can then be re-assigned. Or you get half of your cash back to re-assign as wanted. When I notice an off balance team, I want to correct it. But I don't want to lose all my hard earned skill points and start all over again. If the classes are balanced right, then it shouldn't matter that people be allowed to level up as one, and then switch the points over to another. This may also help a lot with the flood of certain classes. I'm sure a lot of people are selfishly playing whatever they want with no thought toward the team. But other players probably picked something like an Assassin or Sniper while there weren't any or many. Then if a bunch of people jump in to that class, they have to either take a hit to their skills or keep playing. Can't say I blame them for not wanting to start over. Thoughts? Flaws with this theory?
I think you should be able to switch classes and have some bonus cash/skill points. Perhaps when you change classes you gain half of how many skill points you had before. Still a penalty but not as harsh.
Yea, would be nice to have a option to switch classes without having to suicide. But You do get a $50 dollar bonus when you suicide for another class. Already could see that bonus getting abused. Just on the fact you can keep getting another 50 for each Suicide/class change.
The only flaw that I can see is that from time to time you may switch to an Assassin or Sniper to eliminate a Jackbot or Turret for example and then switch back to your primary. If the game automatically reset the skill points and gave you back 50% of your money invested you would not be able to switch classes more than once effectively. I do like the idea but I think the actual application needs some work. How about the addition of a skill reset box in the spawn area that resets your skill points and gives you back 50% of the money you invested. In this manner you could change classes as needed and still have the option to reset your skills at any point.
It can't be any worse than it is currently, can it? You currently get no bonus when switching. You can switch classes without suiciding. While waiting for a respawn, you just hit down on the d-pad. But you reset your skills when you do so.
I agree switching classes should be a painless process, your cash should be refunded to place into your new class.
Choices have consequences. If your class makeup isn't good enough, your team didn't pick a good class mix. If the other team's class makeup somehow trumps yours, switch early before you're too invested. These are not hard concepts.
^^Agreed. Uber made it to be team based this isn't MW2. They purposely did this so you can't nonstop counter-class rage rushing people 'cause you want revenge. Just communicate with your team, granted they probably wont back and tell them what's going rather trying to handle everything yourself.
