I just wanted to put this idea out of having gigantic units that are giant battle fortresses and maybe able to produce smaller units.
They would be pretty large and slow but very tough and maybe use it as alternative protection for your commander from nukes in the late game as everything else dies from nukes so it would be nice to have something that can take hits.

    Also giant robots are cool!

Completely agree with the whole concept of giant lumbering robots! Would be awesome

unfortunately, uber has repeatedly stated that such 'super units' will not be in the game as they will render all other units kinda pointless (why attack with 100 small bots when you can have 10 mega bots? )

However, I do not know how they feel about mobile factories e.g. just mobile production facilities without armaments, don't really see a problem with that :) And otherwise, there will still be mods right?

Easy way to do this, make scenarios in a mission editor. One side gets access to a structure that biulds the Super Robots. The other side is trying to stop them.... GO

Dispite it being a unfair balance I can see plenty of people wanting to try this out. Could even give odds like 3 people vs 2, with the person side having the super robots.

Mobile factories have plenty of inherent issues that mean they don't work so well in a game like PA, to meals them work in SupCom2 GPG have to make them build faster and for cheaper to make them viable, though SupCom2 had plenty of issues that centered around factories as well so it was pretty messy all round.

I think the only kind of "Mobile factory" we can reasonably hope for is something that builds a special unit unique to it and it's function. That way you can approach balancing it "in a vacuum" because anything you do to it won't awkwardly carry over to the rest of the unit roster.

There have been quite a few very very very long threads on "megabots" or "experimentals" or whatever you want to call them.

The majority of the community is against them because they would invalidate basic units. Imagine Vanguards that have more health and deal more damage. No thanks. :-/

What ever happened to that Megabot experiment Uber made a long while back? They decided to scrap it?

As far as I know it was simply a scale test.

That and a means to gauge community reaction and while there was a lot of people who liked it, very few had solid reasoning towards the idea's feasibility/implementation.
