I've organised a local PA 1v1 Tournament in Edinburgh. It will be part of the LAN organised by the University Gaming Society, so if you happen to be close to Edinburgh and want to participate just contact me @Zaphys and show up to the event. The entry to the LAN is free for members of the society and friends (£2 otherwise) , so anyone who comes from outside the university to play in the tournament will count as my friend if she/he lets me know in advance. Classification Phase 17:00 - 19:00 Swiss (no elimination) 30-minute rounds playing in the standard ladder maps in order: 1) Forge 2) Duat 3) Meso 4) Styx Pairings will be announced and displayed at the RTS Club desk, paired players will meet and the player who is top in the pairing hosts the game with standard ladder settings and loading the map corresponding to the round from the list above. Then all players wait for confirmation to start the game. After a game is finished, players shake their hands and results are reported to the RTS Club desk. If a game is running when the time is up players must stop playing immediately and the organisers will judge if the match is a draw (most common scenario) or a win for the player with an obvious irreversible advantage. We strongly encourage to realistically GG before the time is up in order to match timings and to be fair to other players. After all rounds are finished, rank 1 player is appointed Challenger 1 and rank 2 player is appointed Challenger 2. Rank 3 player is appointed semi-challenger 1 and rank 4 player is semi-challenger 2. Finals Phase 19:30 - 20:30 Semi-challengers shake their hands and sit facing each other wearing headphones. Semi-challenger 2 hosts a game for semi-challenger 1 to join and loads a map of randomly selected from the 4 above. Semi-challengers play each other to compete for 3rd and 4th places. Challengers shake their hands and sit facing each other wearing headphones. Challenger 2 hosts a game for Challenger 1 to join and loads a map of his/her choice from the four above. Then the first game is played. The loser of a game host the next game and loads a map of his/her choice from the four above. Challengers play a match of best-out-of-3 games whose winner becomes the winner of the tournament and loser is 2nd. *My infinite gratitude to Uber (@jables circulate the message) for their awesome response and support for the event. We are a small gaming society and having developers directly contribute to our events is very exciting!
