(Granted, the Assault doesn't really need this as much, but the same thing can easily apply to him.) I just have to appreciate all the miraculous wonders that can occur from Sniper, Support, and even Assault being able to lob their stuff over long distances. I've especially found this handy on Steel Peel, where cover is in abundance. I've once had an enemy sniper so good he could lob his trap right into the base next to the jump pad. On my side, I've been able to place a trap on top of our bridges while I'm still on the lower floor. Supports can toss out their air strikes with such distance (properly aimed), that it's like they're all carrying a third weapon: rocket launcher. Technically the Assault can probably do this with his "sticky bomb" as I like to call it, but his mobility hardly requires it. Not that I'm complaining about it. I love each class having more versatility. It seems rather good for the game. It just seems a little wacky.
Bear in mind that the Sniper is always at the *** end of his range when he hits the spawn ring on Grenade III, and lands that trap next to the jump pad on the Steel Peel spawn ring (holy hell do I love doing this), but much less so when he nails the spawn ring exit from the roof of the center room on AmmoMule, and on the spawn ring from the raised platform on the side of LazeRazor. Airstrike and Bomb range is frightening, but Sniper's trap throw distance is just barely enough to be dangerous
I've always had a lot of fun with arcing projectiles in video games. In MNC the sniper's trap range is just long enough to be able to put a trap on pretty much any upper level from the level below. I like to use it to guard the ejectors while I'm holding the lower ground on levels like GrenADE III and Ammomule. I also have a lot of fun tossing traps into the enemy base from as far away as possible. On LaseRazor and Steel Peel (as you mentioned) you can put traps on the upper spawn ring from nearby upper levels. You can do the same on Ammomule and GrenADE III, but it requires that you take a running jump off of the bridge and toss the trap in mid air.
I change classes too often...I get the lobbing distances wrong. Going from support to tank screws me up too...I throw stickerz too high. With support, I love staring up at the ceiling, running, jumping and throwing.
LOL, That would be hilarious if they did a re-skin of a tank that was a cuties girl with a "hello kitty, rainbowbrite, and my little pony" sticker bomb.
You can throw stuff long-distance by aiming high, moving forward, and jumping. My best intentional lob is from a GrenADE bridge directly into the Moneyball, and I probably could go farther. Looks like I've got a new project.
