I used the search and couldn't find a similar topic. Would it be possible to add an option to limit or disable super weapons? I mean I know you can built defense against them but it gets a bit boring because all people do is long range spam atomic bombs. If you have 9 defense missiles they just fire 10 at you and if one hits your center base and you're pretty much done for it. I remember C&C had an option where you could limit super weapons to one building for each player.
If there are limits they should not be considered for balancing. They artificially prevent the game from scaling past a certain point and they interact poorly when you have more than 2 players. The game design should assume no limits because otherwise they act as a tempting band-aid solution for poor balance.
Speaking about balancing... making a balance that scales from a single small planet to a multi-planet cpu destroying space saga is probably impossible so... whats the scale Uber wants to balance for? 4 planets? 1 with 2 asteroids? I'm quite curious as I'd think you have to take a target game size and balance for it and I wonder what Uber expects as the standard game size. (Also so there could be a standard size for maps in game creation so I know I'm joining something sensible instead of the next megalomaniac with 15 planets.
Based on discussions, it's likely that there will be certain options to disable things like nukes or orbital. It's just speculation though.
