League of Commanders - unique commanders

Captain Conundrum has made a Planetary Annihilation mod which changes the commanders from their boring, vanilla selves, into individuals with unique powers. Choose from the following:

From commanders with high vision, to flak, to one lugging around powerful artillery, there's something for everyone.

The mod also includes a pick rotation similar to that seen in MOBAs like League of Legends and DOTA2. Ensure that your commander is your's and your's alone.

Why is your organisation promoting a single mod like this?

Because I made it. And because the commanders are all named after exodus staff. And because maybe there will be a team tournament coming up using a certain mod.

Well, I made it myself and I just happen to be in exodus. When I do a tournament I'm not sure that it will be an official exodus event, but yeah the exodus people seem to like it. The original post here wasn't even by me!

That's the part I was kinda dubious about.

If it's a official exodus mod, that all fine and good, but if not, it's a little....suspect when using the exodus profile to promote it.

It did kinda make me think that you might have been using your position to give it an extra spot light for a non exodus thing.

if there is one thing i heavily dislike
then it is promoting stuff while making other stuff look bad ... DONT do that ...

I know I know, and im probably just being a little silly about it.

But it did strike me as weird having exodus suddenly out of the blue post this, when other then the references, wasn't a exodus thing.

Just seemed like a little bit of abuse of the channels name to do so.

*shrugs* but maybe I'm just paranoid.

@Bsport has been working very hard on making the article look nice for the last couple days.
@Quitch saw that we published the article and posted here and other places.
@proeleert, @totalannihilation and @OtterFamily have also helped with playtesting the mod.

I am very greatful that my friends in eXodus have been so supportive of this.

you totaly show bias that way ..
just explain what you want to promote
how it differs from other modes/mods/games that makes it intresting without talking bad about those other stuff or too hyperbole about the stuff you promote ... stay neutral ...

No. I have been working on this mod on my own. Other exodus people have done work on the article and news posts, but that is all.

Possibly the confusion here is coming from it being on the exodus site. I want to point out that the Articles section is available to authors that want to use it. We have at least one other article that I know of being written by an author that is not a member of eXodus, but it hasn't been finished yet because he got busy with school.

Like I said before, I didn't write that post and while I'm sure I could find the password to the account somewhere in our files, I don't currently know what it is.

I also do enjoy vanilla balance and I play a lot of un-modded games (currently #10 on the ladder!). I don't believe that vanilla commanders are really boring. This mod just adds a new layer of depth in team games by encouraging teams to make good use of the new abilities that they have available.

So can we rename this thread to bashing on cpt. That way it's not just a giant derailment of an otherwise innocent post about a mod that was developed by cpt who is a member of Exodus and had a good friend and other member of Exodus promote his stuff using there groups name. I see no bad from connections/friends promoting a mod or product. They are not saying this mod is the best mod. Or other mods suck. Just a friendly push to help cpt and the LoC mod.

The mod is about changing the commanders, it's kinda wearing its bias on its sleeve.

so and that should be an extra endorsement to trashtalk about other games ? especialy the one that mod is actualy made of from in the first place ?
