Hi folks I tried to install the game on my PC, I downloaded the PA_Setup.exe, installed it and now, when I start the launcher, it crashes immediatly, "UberLauncher.exe has stopped working". Sometimes a black window appears behind the error message. Maybe something can be found in the DxDiag? Thanks for any help...
Go to the start menu and type in 'event viewer'. go to windows logs - applications and find the mosr recent PA error. Post here what is says (if there is one). If nothing, and If ALL your drivers are updated, and it looks like your GPU might be slightly outdated, your best option is probably to reinstall.
Well, as i dont get the launcher running, nothing is installed. i found another way to get the actual game code in this thread: alternative-go-launcher-build-for-windows.59287 (i am not allowed to post links) I get exactly the same errors. I found some error reports: Code: Faulting application name: UberLauncher.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x535ad6c7 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.3.9600.17055, time stamp: 0x532943a3 Exception code: 0xe06d7363 Fault offset: 0x00011d4d Faulting process id: 0xbd8 Faulting application start time: 0x01cf7f13017c78ba Faulting application path: D:\PA\UberLauncher.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\KERNELBASE.dll Report Id: 3fa5e629-eb06-11e3-8259-00248c23fcf9 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: As google is my friend, i did some interesting stuff which did not solve my problem: change permissions to rename the kernelbase.dll: rightclick -> properties -> security -> advanced -> change owner: insert in the text field <your PC name>\Administrators (PC name is right above this text field) Then back in the security panel, you can change the permissions to "all" for the admins. rename kernelbase.dll to something like kernelbase.dll.bkp then run in elevated mode promt: Code: sfc /scannow With this i hoped to get a kernelbase.dll that is in no way corrupt. sfc indeed created a new dll, but the error persists.
I also have the same problem. After updating launcher it stopped working. I deleted the game from my PC and tried to install it again. Only PALauncher has installed and when I start it it crashes. I have the latest drivers installed. My system specifications: Video card: GeForce GTS 450 Intel Core2 Duo CPU E4700@ 2.60GHz RAM: 4Gb Windows 7
I have the same problem ... Windows 7 64 AMD Radeon 5770 Latest graphics drivers, directX. I already tried an alternative launcher from here: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/alternative-go-launcher-build-for-windows.59287/ And the alternative launcher installs the game. Now I have some other error preventing me to launch the game (Coherent UI subsystem error). Event viewer says: Faulting application name: UberLauncher.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x535ad6c7 Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18409, time stamp: 0x53159a86 Exception code: 0xe06d7363 Fault offset: 0x0000c42d Faulting process id: 0x1170 Faulting application start time: 0x01cfd4c705bba585 Faulting application path: C:\Anze\Igre\Planetary Annihilation\UberLauncher.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll Report Id: 448aa020-40ba-11e4-b2bb-6cf04975604d What a half-baked product. Waste of my money.
The alternative launcher installed the game, right? So can you start PA.exe directly? I'm not familiar with the Windows version, but I think it's in a x64 folder somewhere in the game directory?
The alternative launcher installed the game. I have a non-ascii character in my user name, so before I could run it, I had to move the install folder somewhere else. It works now, but when an update comes, I'll have to move the game again ...
