I installed and launched the game for the first time today. The opening movie came up, and I clicked to try and skip it. Nothing happened (which could be normal), but voices started playing (like a background video). Something like "Hey guys, x and y here from Uber ....." It looks like this could be a video from the right side of the main menu? This keeps happening when I open the game, it's like playing a video in the background (I don't see the video). Any ideas?
To skip the launch video trailer thing you can press ESC. Though it should only show once anyway. Dunno about your other issues.
Aye I got that, but even when I skipped the movie the video audio kept playing (Youtube video?). It's really weird. Maybe my mouse click went through the opening UI and opened a video on that right sidebar? Even though I never saw it. I've gotten this to happen multiple times, hmm.
I had the same issue. As a first impression to the game, this is really jarring. Also, when I click "Tutorial" on the main screen, audio starts playing but no video. I'm gonna go try and find the tutorial video on YouTube because the game isn't able to show it properly. Whose idea was it to use YouTube to show the game's fullscreen videos? 'Cause it ain't workin'.
Looks like this was fixed in build 71937? UI: A number of fixes to startup flow; you shouldn't be able to skip past the Steam / PlayFab linking now, galactic war video will no long auto play, and a few others.
