Whenever my commander is attacked or something is destroyed, a message appears at the top of the screen and my FPS drops from 50-60 to 15-20. Anyone else experience this? I'm rather new to the game so I apologize if this is a common thing.

    --Win7 64
    --i7 870 2.9GHz (an old CPU...)
    --8mb RAM
    --Radeon 7950.

I was curious if there is a way to disable those messages/notifications?

    thanks

    Well there's your problem.

I don't think 8 megabytes of RAM is going to cut it.

The notifications do cut your fps in half when it appears. So this seems to be a game problem, And I think this has been discussed before.

They use some css animations, so that might be the cause of it.

I haven't looked at the code, but I wonder if the pip for notifications could be getting created at the same time as the alert. There is code that is supposed to keep the pip from hurting the frame rate if it isn't visible, but maybe that code doesn't run until after the pip gets created.

This is still a issue in build 63180.

I think it maybe PiP notification related,
if i get FPS drop from a notification then put mouse over the notification to show the PiP the framerate is still the same, so i'm guessing you maybe right.

I'll have to do more test's i only tried it 2-3 times last build..
