I used the annihilator. I died in mid animation. I was charged $250 for using it, but it did not get used. It was still available to be called when I came back to life (Although I could no longer afford to call it). Either I died before I used it or after. Please make the game consistent.
Players are charged when they try to use something. For the things the player animates to hit (annihilator, ejector, and fodder spawners) they do not go off until the player's hand hits the hologram, but they are still charged for trying even if they are killed before that. This is working as expected, though it may be behavior we change.
I am glad things are working as expected. I would elaborate on my experience and state that due to lag I saw lightening flash for the annihilator. Although everything worked as expected and lag must be tolerated, the unfortunate combination of events made for unsatisfying game play. I had not before realised that money was taken until pads were full activated. These issues are all peanuts, but I'd rather not get annoyed with lag for the benefit of miniture game features i.e. having to live to activate pad after paying for it.
I don't think that I've ever seen the lightning go off when this happens. I'd be willing to bet that someone else hit it right after you died. It may not be fun when it happens to you, but it a lot of fun to make someone else waste their money.
I was shot from a distance. As I stated, the annihilator was still available after I came back to life. I wanted to press it again but no longer had the money. It was lag.
