Nearly every game I go in the bullet aren't registering and I'm on the brink of deleting the game. Nearly every game without fail, bullet won't register and it's become a game of luck. Please fix this ASAP!
You want them to go to every player's house and improve their connections? I don't see how else they could drastically improve your connection to the host of a game. I rarely experience any kind of lag with this game. Could it be your connection that's the problem? Are you using a wired or wireless connection? What other games do you experience this kind of lag with?
I think it's to do with the servers, due to the unpredicted popularity..MW2 had something similar. And I have wired connection and it's fine for other games. My friends also experience a similar thing. Alsooo I'm not the only one on the forum with the problem, but it seems to be becoming more severe as time passes. :/
I've run into lag maybe 4 times, and I've put easily 35 hours into the game since I got it like three days ago. The lag can't be such a serious issue if I've only had to leave 4 games.
We use a similar multiplayer server setup as most console games. That is to say there isn't a dedicated server. One of the players is both hosting the game and playing it, all other players connect to them. The quality of the game is highly dependent on the quality of the connection the player hosting the game. There are only a few games I know of that have come out in the last few years for any of the consoles that use dedicated servers, and it was done out of necessity for the number of players in a game they support. A few games have, quite publicly, gone the direction of not supporting dedicated servers at all, even when they've been released multi-platform including on the PC. Dedicated servers are expensive to run, especially for a small company like us. Heck, they're expensive for a bigger company to run with the full backing of a large publisher; there's a reason most games don't run them even with $60 titles.
I understand that, and I agree that it is cheaper and less hassle than getting dedicated servers to run the game on. But isnt it possible to search for local region games as a priority? instead of just being put in a game with a decent amount of players. From my experience at least i have been put into games with mostly americans/canadians etc and due to this the lag while in game is quite sever.
It's not as much blatant lagging tht I'm running into as it is the bullet registration or lack of. I understand about the dedicated servers (call of duty seems to fit what u were describing perfectly) and understand that there isn't a massive amount u can do about lag, but please tell me u can help with the bullet registration?
The lag related issues, including the quality of the games you find, are definitely high on our list of issues. Some of the bigger retail games have the benefit of a much larger player base to choose from when finding people to play with giving them a greater chance of finding a local game to connnec to. One of the best ways to get less laggy servers is to get more people playing the game. When it a hit does no damage, that's blatant lagging. Like I said in my previous post, we did a lot to try to make lag less noticeable. The unfortunate side effect of that is an otherwise seemingly fine server might be very bad, except your shots don't hit people. Another person in that same game might not be experiencing any issues which means their shots hit you.
