When i was in high school there was group that came to the school called Silent children (something like that) and they spoke about this stuff. I honestly didnt care sorry
This has been happening in Afrika for ages now. What so special about these guys that hasn't been done by any other children army?
I'm just doing whats right here. I mean come on, female children become sex slaves! Males become sentries for and body bags for his army. Hell he even said he got no reason to get an army this large. He said he just wanted to maintain his power! He has no goals for this war. But simply to become more powerful. The reason he hasn't been arrested because no one actually give a damn about him and no one has actually heard of him.
As much as I hate to say this but if these kind of things don't exist then the world won't be balanced.
^ ^ That's the most stupidest and ignorant thing you can ever say. Even for you, Pyre. Don't act stupid.
Really Pyre, grow up! And make up your mind which account you want to use. Nevermind, decided for you.
This is one of those situations where I honestly can't tell if there's a guy making an unfunny joke, or is just stupid enough to actually believe this. And Zoooooooooom, +1 for link to a George Carlin video.
I don't know either - I know a lot of people think this way though, and it is sad that the world is that way
It's too early to tell, but I see most of this as an excuse for the U.S. to invade more of Africa. Either way, the man is in the wrong and should be punished. Too bad I don't care enough to do anything about it! Sorry for being honest, but before you criticize me, I don't see any of you doing anything either.
what everyone seems to think is that reposting video's is a legit way of contributing. When you say you're raising awareness, it sounds like something but to me that's nothing. You're educating the severely uneducated who will then do nothing. You take a problem, raise awareness to it, then do nothing to help. 1 person there in africa helping is better than 50,000 views on youtube. There is a lot to consider here, more than the Kony2012 video shows. Invisible Children also don't have the best record in handling their funds in a way where the effected receive it. It's not even a charity, but basically a marketing company for these issues. this has been happening since the 80's and all of a sudden there is an uproar in awareness. Kony has not been active since 2006 and there are reports that he isn't even there anymore. Uganda is a good source for oil, and has ties with the chinese in providing natural resources to them. There's a lot of political issues within the big picture that make it difficult to take action. they're apparently trying to build up the uganda militia to prevent Kony's actions from going further.... anyone remember how we built up the taliban so they could defend themselves against russia? you remember how that turned out?
Is it still bad to try and spread a positive message across Youtube, even when no one takes any action at all? I also believe it's counterintuitive to think that by watching a video to believe that you're contributing to something but it's still dense to say not to try and spread an admirable message.
I think the message should be spread, and it's not bad to spread it across youtube but it doesn't do 1/100th as much as people act like it does. here's what I don't care for, uneducated people who are now social activists after watching a 30 minute "documentary" (informercial) about a subject that is widely more complicated then they can even begin to imagine. also, maybe I need to lighten up some but I do get annoyed when I see people on facebook that are so horrified and concerned about this situation, but don't do a thing except change their profile pic. This to me is like when someone from a neighboring high school died, and next thing you know everyone "was" that persons best friend and is really upset. Either you go and do/say something that directly helps the family, or you post on facebook how upset you are. One of these seem's like it deserves appraisal, and one sounds like an attention whore. These are 2 very different situations.. just thought i'd clarify Yes it raises "awareness", but how has this ever worked before? Maybe the sopa/pipa thing, but I attribute that to the website blackouts.. Child abuse? Nope. Breast Cancer? Nope. So many sad facebook trends that have an such a ridiculous level of participation, and such a low level return caused by the movement.
What can I say? People want to feel a part of something, a movement because of what it represents. Sometimes people need to be reminded of whats going on in the world.
