The time has come.

In King of the Planet 11 the ferocious PAG_elodea took on the brave (P)Battlebear as they did battle to rule the galaxy. Choosing unwisely to face his higher ranked ladder opponent on all ladder maps, the rustiness of the bear betrayed him and elodea destroyed him 5-0.

In King of the Planet 12 eXodus eSports will be streaming a best-of-five between King of the Planet PAG_elodea, and the challenger yaegz, at 1500 UTC on Saturday, 28th March.

Elodea has proven to be almost unstoppable, currently holding the #1 slot on both unofficial ladders, while also holding the #2 slot on the Uber ladder. He has continued to define the meta for most players with his innovative strategies, informative articles, and cat fact streams.

yaegz has quickly proven himself to be one of the best players of the game, holding the top spot on the ladder for quite some time and proving a formidable opponent, perhaps one of the only ones that elodea is afraid to face.

The economy is changing and with it all the opening builds. Will it be a rush to learn the meta first? Will we see maps designed to throw the king or will both players stick to the safety of ladder maps? Will yaegz fall into the challenger trap of rustiness or will he have honed his skills to a sharp edge?

As usual, it's a race to learn a new build right before a tournament. Dang it guys stop that!

With the amount of time elodea spends on PTE, he won't have that much learning to do.

@Yaegz is back in the ladder... both him and @elodea were eliminated before the finals today... the hype for KotP IS REAL.

It will be interesting to see the difference in there play between Evil Twins, when the patch had just come out, and King of the Planet, once people have a better idea of how to open.

Will we see games on non-ranked maps i hope? Just tired to see tourney games on same maps.Maybe use Gandalf map pack or something like this.

Its time someone removed elodea from the throne, he's getting way too comfy....

Per the rules:

• The challenger will host the first game.
  • Further games are hosted by the loser of the previous game.

• The host may use any system within the following guidelines:
  • multi-planet spawns are allowed
  • minimum planet radius 400
  • each biome may only be used once per-player for single planet systems
  • each planet in a multi-planet system must use a different biome
  • any planetary collisions must be declared
  • Breach of these requirements will lead to your opponent hosting and loss of your rehost privileges for the game.

Players can use whatever map they want so long as it meets these requirements. A part of King of the Planet is using maps which exploit the weakness of your opponent while playing to your strengths.

Don't think i'll practice for this one. They'll probably release another patch the day before lol.
