Hello! First post, and I should apologies right up front if this duplicates any others; I *did* search but couldn't find anything that seemed relevant.

Does anyone know of a mod that can keymap the camera controls more extensively? Specifically, it would be fantastic to be able to map what is currently the scroll-wheel button (hold to drag planet view), and the scroll wheel function itself (zoom in and out, quickly).

Does such a mod exist? Or are those functions already in-game and I've missed them? Thanks for any replies, and again, sorry if I've duplicated anything!

I don't think this is a duplicate so don't worry. Neat idea, it would be quite helpful.

Yeah, something like spacebar in place of the mousewheel button for dragging the map around would be really nice, a la Photoshop. Seems as though it would be a very comfortable control scheme.

Unfortunately, I know absolutely zilch about modding - any takers? ;)

    Well....

You could change the setting to "edge scroll"

So that way when you move your cursor to the edge of the screen, you scroll.... You can adjust sensitivity as well.

Yeah, but that doesn't really have the same effect - it requires a lot of extra mouse movement, time, and energy, and it's less precise for all that. Having a keypress take the place of the mousewheel button would be way more ergonomic and efficient, I think.

But! If there's nothing out there at the moment, alas. I don't really have time to learn to mod and implement it myself. :(

Hey, I don't know if this is new with the latest update or what, but I just discovered some key functionality that's very close to what I was looking for.

To zoom quickly with the keyboard, use Ctrl + up/down arrow or Ctrl + W/S, depending on whether you're using arrow keys or WASD for map navigation. I kinda' like it, maybe someone else out there will as well.

    Cheers!

Bumpitty-ump. Sorry to bump such a trivial thread, but I've decided it would be really nice to be able to assign fast keyboard zoom after all. As I said, though, I have absolutely no modding experience, and while I'm somewhat familiar with HTML and a teeny bit of CSS, I could essentially be considered coding-illiterate.

Anyway, obviously the functionality I'm looking for is already mapped to the keyboard in the form of Ctrl + Up/Down or Ctr + W/S, so all that need be done is re-map it. Can anyone suggest how that might be done? I've browsed the how-to's in this thread a bit, but I'm afraid I still don't have the slightest idea how I'd go about it. o_O

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Hmm last time I checked those functions are not mappable using UI mods.
Same as changing wasd to some other format.
Apparently there are 2 input systems for keys, UI coherent input + engine itself.

Ah, dammit, it's so close! They even have *slow* zoom already mappable. o_O
