K/D or Objective?

Here's a poll to actually see who plays more for their K/D Ratio or the overall Objective on Winning. (Pushing Lanes, Killing Turrets, Attacking Moneyball, Killing Pros in the Way).

Its one thing to vote it, its another thing to actually do it. I'm not sure if this particular poll will be accurate. :?

As much as its very off topic to talk about, its not really a problem. After the host migrated everyone that was talking in the whole lobby left so I wasn't compelled to stay myself. People not speaking [and a possibly on topic comment] or trying to push at all irks me. At any rate it was nice playing with and against you.

There is also a balanced approach, keeping the moneyball down for 5 mins while kill farming people and only letting your bots do significant damage to the ball.

The issue is kill farming before you ever drop the ball. That has led to quite a few turn arounds in our games against more skilled slayers. People often forget that keeping the ball down causes enemy bots (including Jackbots) to spawn at half hp, making lane and map control a lot easier.

Ya, this isn't a very accurate poll for me because as I do go a lot for kills, I also kill a lot of bots, unless I am playing a class that is terrible at it. As for turrets, I kill them on every class.

I think the idea is overall goal.

Would you rather go 30-0 and loose or 10-20 and win?

Granted those situations usually involve randoms, but I still think it's valid.

Of course the idea is overall goal. Which is why I stated I always kill turrets and kill bots.

I said it's not accurate for me. As in myself alone.

I stated that I always kill bots unless I am on a class that is terrible at it. So saying that, I am not going to run into a group of bots just to get killed by some guy because it will accomplish nothing except give him more money to upgrade their base and his/her skills. So, I always go for kills because it stops juice gain, makes people re-think their TDM mentality and go for the base attack more.

Boosting in the spawn room while on a smoke break is my objective.

Are you talking in public games? Kill farming in public games, even with the moneyball down, just seems unnecessary to me. I'll kill enemy pros if I see one, but the rest of the time I'll be shooting the ball.

If I'm playing Assassin, Support, or Tank, I'm always going for the objective. If I'm playing Assault, Gunner, or Sniper, I'm going to go for the kills (which is why I usually only play these classes when I'm playing in a group).

I kill the people who try to prevent me from doing the objective.

Some see this as kill farming, I see it as shoot the money ball when nobody is around and kill the enemies if they come out.

I think this poll piggybacks off your other one about what people think they spend the most money on per game. That poll shows that most people pour money into skills, so in a way, going for the K/D is a good way to hit them where they've invested the most. Just one way of lookin' at it.

That being said, I'm a fan of the objective.

I always go objective. Kills are awesome, but they sure as heck won't win you the game. Now if the money ball is down and my defenses are sured up (usually thanks to Hostile Paradox), who's to say a little kill farming isn't going to happen? My k/d isn't great, but I have to make up for it somehow when I get my *** kicked trying to learn Tank.

I was in a public game with some woefully inexperienced players vs SIG|V|AR and his butt buddies earlier today and watched them do this in Grenade III. It was pretty weak as all I had to do was cloak, drop down, and walk right past them. They won, of course, but that's going to happen when your multi-tiered All-Star team goes up against a bunch of 50 and less randoms with one All-Star.

I operate like this:
1. Kill bots and close pros to upgrade.
2. Destroy enemy turrets.
3. Upgrade base to all lvl 3 everything.

At this point the game is probably over.
