Just bought an SNES, what good (non mainstream) games do you suggest?

Just bought an SNES, it comes with one controller, will probably buy another controller.

But the point is, what games do you remember fondly and suggest I get? Other than games like Earthbound, Super Metroid, Mario, etc... I'm talking hidden gems here.

    Danke. :D

    hmm....hidden gems I don't know about.

Turtles in Time was great, though. and I actually liked that Mickey Mouse's Magical Adventure or whatever it was where you had a cork gun and a toy horse.

Oh, get a Super Scope and play Yoshi's Safari.

I really enjoyed Joe & Mac as a kid. Dunno if it'd hold up now. Haven't played it in over 10 years.

The Super Nintendo had a lot of great games, but people know about most of them even if they never owned them at the time they were released.

Unless you're looking at games that never made it out of japan to my knowledge, I don't think I'd consider anything a hidden gem. Even then, they probably got a remake on another platform and ceased to be hidden. If it's on the SNES and it's a gem, people tend to know about it.

    I highly recommend Blackthorne.

This actually got re-released for PC for other people interested.

These aren't exactly the obscure titles you requested but I would consider these must-haves:
    Chrono Trigger
    Harvest Moon
    Zombies Ate My Neighbours
    Breath of Fire
    Starfox
    Super Mario RPG
    F-Zero
    Secret of Mana

    EARTHBOUND.

it's one of those special games, man. like, it has an art style and tone that have never been duplicated and a battle system that so beautifully blends action and turn-based. and the characters! ahhhhhhhh.

if you ever find it, check it out.

Hehe, oh I know, I'd absolutely love to own it. Sadly it's terribly expensive so I'd have to save up. (200 - 500, depending)
