Please let us juice while being grappled as it's kinda stupid that you can't at the moment, would save a lot of people from sin back stabs or face stabs. It doesn't make sense not to allow it.
No, that would effectively nerf the Assassin's secondary job of eliminating key threats, and players with Juice are included.
Here's an idea Allow activating Juice, but only if the grapple would otherwise be fatal Side effects are: You only get half your health back and the Juice gets used up with no boosting effects
If that happens, juice should also auto-activate any time you would die. Headshots are useless vs juice. Turrets are useless vs juice. Charges are useless vs juice. Airstrikes are useless vs juice. Juice - use it or lose it.
Protip: Don't sit on juice. If you get grappled/headshot/headcrab/killed that's your fault for not using your juice.
There is one instance where you are allowed and encouraged to sit on your juice: Shortly before OT hits.
it is kind of silly that you can use juice while stunned by the tank's charge, but not during a grapple
While stun/dizzy is extremely annoying and almost always ends in you getting killed, I would suggest making stun prevent juicing specifically to balance that. You're right, it doesn't make sense that you can juice while too stunned to move/shoot/use abilities.
Stun doesn't affect your ability to use skills/shoot. Knockdown, however, does. Does the knockdown from a level 3 tank charge prevent juicing? If not, I would agree that it should. Generic stuns however should not. Ejectors and gunner slams are good enough against juice already. Knockdown is very different from stun.
You're not encouraged to, but you're able to. Most people just leave $500 in their wallet for that time. And no, you shouldn't be able to juice during grapples period. The enemy has to be humping your face to be able to grapple you, if you don't see it coming that's your fault entirely. There's a reason you glow when you have a juice, it's so people can see you from a mile away. This game relies on you being situationally aware. If you don't change your tactics based on the situation and don't know what to do, you will not get far. You see a sniper icon? Start moving erratically and put things between you and him. You hear an assassin, or even a lunge? Get your *** in gear and keep your finger on CTRL. You see an assault? Make sure you're not near the edge of the ring. You see a gunner or support about to come out and unload on your face? HIT DAT **** UP, YO.
To make sure we're using the same terms: Dizzy = slowed movement Stun = unable to move (typically unable to perform actions as well, at least that's how I hear the term all the time) Knockdown = obvious, unable to move/use skills until you get up. As far as I remember, I haven't been able to use skills or move while stunned after getting back up after a tank's charge for a short time.
Well, going based on WC3/WoW terms knockdown and stun are nearly the same thing. Can't move or act. I would describe the "dizzy" effect as a "daze" or simply "slow".
Based on WoW terms: Knockdown: White hits and skills can still be performed but casts (excluding instants) will be interrupted. Stun: Except for stuff like the insignia and racials you can't do anything
I was under the impression this was a graphics error and you were actually still knocked down. If I'm wrong I'll gladly withdraw my statement. And what is with all this WoW-speak?
In MNC: Stun = dizzy. Slowed movement but still able to jump, shoot and use skills. Knockback is only done by Tank charge 3. Throw is every other effect that sends you flying. Assault Bombs, Gunner Slam, Sniper's Active Skill Grapple, Ejector. During knockback you can't do anything. When you are thrown you can still shoot, use skills and activate juice. Ejectors throw and stun.
I know where the difference in terminology comes from - I get knocked into a wall by Tank charges quite often, which drops me to the ground before I'm "supposed to", like if I had just flown backward until hitting the ground (without hills, either). This means the animation of me standing up finishes before the knockdown effect wears off, which leaves me standing there unable to act. That condition, standing there with your thumb up your arse waiting to get ganked is called Stun in WoW, and also what I'm used to hearing it called (as well as what you spend 90% of your time doing in PvP there). Dizzy (or "dazed" in WoW) was slowed, but able to move/use abilities/etc. Knockdown was obvious enough, you couldn't do anything until you got up.
"Herp a derp, I got one minute to get juice or buy it. If I buy it my teammates can't, but screw them. On the other hand I do want to win. Whatever shall I do?"
Buying juice a bit before OT is better too, since you or someone else can grab the juice again as OT hits.
