Joining a lobby for money by doing nothing

Yesterday, after I was finally able to find a game with a Japanese host, someone joined and didn't ever select a character. They sat around for at least a half dozen games, and I think the reason why is that they were getting money! They earned money without even having to touch the controller.

It would be nice if people timed out if they didn't enter the game within 30 seconds or something similar.

I've only seen it the one time, but it's really annoying when you start a game 4-on-6 because it's 5-on-6 with a guy who's never going to enter the game. :-/

I whole-heartedly agree with that. I never knew they were making money off of it but a match I was in had a "split-screener" with both of them not even in game but on our team.

On a side note I dislike how the game puts all the "split-screeners" all on the same team when there are two of them. Three and more I can understand but when I have a full team mainly comprised of split-screen players it tends to get old.

What's the difference whether or not they are "split-screeners"? The reason they are on the same team (most of the time anyway) is because they could both have the advantage of having an inside look in the bases of the opposing team.

In respect to the original post, I definitely agree that this should be stopped. It's not even a fast way to get money; it just weakens your team.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to get dropped if you idle too long, and this is just a glitch.

Had it happen to me a couple times tonight (people never even choosing a class) and it does get pretty old.

We do kick idle players. (Heck right now if you don't move for a certain amount of time and just look around and fire you'll be kicked... known going to be fixed)

Are you sure he wasn't doing anything? Do you have any other information about how he wasn't getting kicked?

The couple times this happened one of the players on my team never chose a class. Each time I pulled up the scoreboard he or she still had no class indicator next to their name. End of the match, still no class indicator, no kills, assists, no deaths.

I get kicked from games for idling if something comes up and i move away from my xbox.

But if im hosting, it doesnt kick me. I idled for 3 games in a row as host and didnt get kicked. ( Didnt idle because im a jackass, but because that damn girlfriend came over and i had to spend time with her instead of MNC....woe is me!!! )

Could be that it doesnt kick host for idling because that would end the game?

Yes, i know there is Host Migration.

EDIT: Tested. Doesnt kick if your Host, select a Class and sit in spawn.
