This was mentioned in another sub forum. But it didnt recieve the exposure i thought it should. Just curious if i could have a formal response about JPL's involvement in the voice acting. If this has already been addressed can sombody source it for me... Brian, Knight?! Brad? And in case you didnt know peter dinkleage has a good robot voice
JPL was the voice for the Kickstarter video, and I would love for him to have some form of involvement in the main game however there is no official word from Uber on this. We know that the voice work in the game isn't a place holder so he wont be doing the in game voice over (however he might be a bit much for that anyway). I think the biggest chance is if they bring him back for an official intro video (which would be great) however there is no official word on this.
As I said before, not a fan of the current voice lines. Far too happy / emotional. Instead of trying to sound emotionless or serious, it actually sounds like there's some forced emotion in it, the kind you hear in a commercial.

I never liked Portal 2 GLaDOS. In the first one, even when she did insult Chell, her insults were more direct, in two she just sounds like one of those movie characters that do the whole "insult disguised as a compliment" thing. I mean she went from "your entire life has been a mathematical error" to "lolusofat."
Still i could have sworn he was goig to do some voice work beyond the kickstarter video.. Is there any information regarding a opening cinematic?
I was in fact under the impression that he was gonna do ingame and unit voice as well. Like when you order units to attack. They respond with like Annihilation, Assimilation, Termination. Destruction. And that sort of thing. instead of BEEEP BUUUP BLIIP BABABA BUUBUBU.. Not to mention when commanders die, thats an opportunity as well. and well just general commander gossip.
Count me among those hoping for more of Mr. Lowrie as well beyond the opening cinematic. It's just won't be Total..er, Planetary Annihilation without him. Even an easter egg would be nice. While I agree that the whole "Chell is fat" business in P2 was poorly written, don't forget that P1 GlaDOS also hurled random insults at the player directly as well (unlikeable, adopted, etc.). Anyway, such a DLC could conceivably work, along the lines of her guest appearance as the dealer in "Poker Night at the Inventory 2", as long as the writing stayed close to the dark sarcasm and deeply veiled barbs that were her hallmark. Imagine the possibilities: "Ah, I understand your strategy now. You no longer need this part of your base and you're letting the enemy take care of demolishing it for you. Very efficient of you." "Oh, dear, a planetoid has landed on your commander. An exhaustive search of the galactic archive of military history shows that the Progenitors commonly referred to such an event as a 'crushing defeat'. Isn't that amusing?" "Legend has it that, as the apex of war technology, commanders had encyclopedic mastery of every aspect of strategy and tactics. Congratulations on improving our understanding of history by debunking that, commander."and an actual quote from PNatI2: "You know, in some human sports, the winner is the one who scores the fewest possible points. For the record, GLaDOS likely made fat jokes because the data available to her indicated that human females were sensitive to such insults.
