I've always sucked at making paragraphs, etc etc etc. Might be an eye-sore, so deal with it I guess  . Anywho, I believe that the Jetpack Cooldowns that were supposed to 'Balance' them, since we can aim and shoot with little trouble are a bit 'idiotic,' per say. I don't think that things should be balanced on account of bad Xbox controls. I'd say just let them customize their controls, and if for whatever reason you can't do that, give them a few more control schemes. Thoughts? I'm open to criticism. Cheers, big ears.
I agree, no one was complaining about tank/gunner being OP either. The change simply came out of nowhere. Now its 2-3 assault/sniper/assassin each team every game. Uber has done great job so far, but I'd say this was a big mistake. A lot of players who used to main heavy class have switched to assault.
I agree, I still think it was unnecessary. Also that impairing movement rarely results in more fun. Yes the gunner and tank are able to aim better while jumping than they could on 360, but at the same time it's much easier for people to aim AT them while they're in the air. I think it balanced out on its own. I don't feel like it really affects my tank play that much, but it makes me not really want to play gunner much anymore.
i agree it wasnt a good change, just annoying more than anything waiting for it to refill, i did switch to assault too but mainly cos it is more fun
Tanks and Gunners still dominate just fine with the cooldown. Just because you didn't see it in your own personal games doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Never said they can't dominate. Pretty easy to dominate regardless of class considering the average skill level in pubs. The point is they aren't as fun anymore. Can you at least consider bringing back the old jumpjets and rebalance some other way?
the old jet packs won't come back but they might tweak the current ones im guessing. i wish the old ones would come back though i miss my old gunner
gunner is fine tank could use an extra 2 seconds or so same cooldown as far as Im concerned maybe add a endorsement for people who want more?
As a tank main, I'm fine with the jetpacks the way they are now. Sure, the old jetpacks were better and I don't think they were hugely IMA or something, but I can deal just fine with the way they are now. Sometimes I wish they would recover a bit faster when I'm climbing or hopping around abstacles, but meh. It's okay.
I agree. I've been main-ing the tank since release on the 360. The only thing no cooldown would change with my game is no one would ever be able to grapple me. Ever.
The only thing I might want to see tweaked is how the jumpjets empty completely if you land on a turret/the moneyball/a player/a bot, and how they don't recharge until you hit the ground. By all means a slight delay, but it would be nice to be able to redirect yourself upon landing on some dude's head or an errant firebase.
What do you mean by "It didn't exist." I know that Jetpack Cooldowns exist, and that's why I'm posting.
There is plenty of window between jumps that you can be grappled, and some assassins are really good at timing it.
You are twisting his words. He means that tanks and gunners do fine with the cooldown, even if you don't see it, that phenomenon still exists.
Twas unintentional. I mean, I do fine as Tank and Gunner, but doing jumps is really slow, and if you Jetpack meter is at 0, you can't jump, and have to walk, and in combat that is really, really annoying. Maybe not to others, but to me.
*Fixed Seirously though. A lot of my grapples have been screwed up due to odd ping issues. I could be hugging a pro to the point that I can not move forwards anymore and fail grapple twice before the pro loses patience and kills me. So timing that with a jumping puzzle makes it damn near impossible with the wonky lag. It's not so bad in pub games with the mediocre players. But once you start getting into more professional leagues, bunny hopping with the heavies would nullify the Assassin ability to take out the key target, or atleast slow them down. This was Uber's response to not being able to grapple in the air.
You can jump just fine with 0 jetpack, it's just a small hop with no jetpacky nonsense. This has been around since release, from what I remember.
