Is there a way we can toggle off the camera so it doesn't automatically center?

In the beginning of every game I usually zoom in on the landing point, with the PIP zoomed out, but on impact the camera always zooms back out and centers on the commander. Kinda irritating. Is there a way to toggle this off?

I've also always found this annoying ever since the feature was introduced. I just had a quick look and it can be removed easily enough (see/search mods forum for steps to install).
