Hi. I'm loving the new game so far and wanted to throw in a few thoughts I had. Apologies if these have already been mentioned in previous posts. Quick glance icons The icons that appear over your units when you are zoomed out are a good idea but are not delivering the clarity needed. I'd suggest icons that are not boxed (so their shape is distinct) and are colour coded to better communicate the type of unit (construction, attack, etc). My quick, five minute image, attached shows the kind of thing I thought might work. Apologies for awful icons, they were just thrown together as quick concept. Left/right click I'm personally really struggling with the left click behaviour. If it was *always* left click for deselect it might be ok - you could get used to it. But the fact is that left click will sometimes be deselect, but sometimes not (e.g. when you choose a command from the right or bottom menu). The inconsistency is frustrating and I think a simple, right click for deselect would do the job. Zoom When zooming in, you feel slightly frustrated that you can't quite look up, as it were (I know you can switch to pan using 'm'). Could the zoom behave as it does, at first, then when you get to the current max zoom, the camera then begins to pan up? Hope that all makes sense and apologies if I've repeated stuff from other threads. Otherwise, loving PA so far! Thanks.
Quick Glance Icons - I agree that Icons could use more readability in the form of improving the uniqueness of each individual icon, for example, Fighters and Bombers are very hard to tell apart from one another solely by strategic icon. However, your idea, having no border, made for even less readability. It was like this at the beginning of the alpha, and the complaints over Strat Icon readability were more frequent than actual bug reports. Left/Right Click - The reason it behaves like this is because that's how it worked in TA and SupCom, and most other games actually. It confused me at first, but you get used to it after a while. Zoom - This kind of behavior is confusing IMHO, when I zoom in on a spot I want that spot in focus. However, that is just my opinion.
