Obviously this needs a bit of explanation. I envisage the ability to paint areas on the planet that your fighter planes would not enter, i.e the enemy base, especially since the style for aircraft is super weak to AA, like in TA.

    What do people think.

Edit : I envisage this to be useful when your interceptors are on fire at will, or you want to prevent bombers from bombing a particular area, this could be done with layers for different groups or plane types. By this, still vote for yes

Or just......not send them over the enemy base?

I still don't see the point. Basic unit control is all this idea replaces and it not really saving clicks really.

i was hoping this was going to be similar to what i was going to post about a field of influence zone that would make it impossible to land units. instead of having force fields just make it "against the rules" to land units in bases. to note when i say this i only mean units and if someone had a whole planet covered you would have to blast away an area to create a LZ for your units.

    That's silly.

Why completely cover you planet in structures, all that's doing is begging to be hit by like 5 KEWs at once because you wasted your resources covering the surface in structures.

The advantage is in not having all of you interceptors killed because there is not way of having them go after enemy air and not risk going over the enemy base and getting trashed. And before you say use anti air, anti air aircraft are useful in that they cover a larger area, even if they are less effective.

Maybe it would be a good mod, if the architecture was somehow made possible in the game engine itself.

Also, this shares the same idea as carpet bombing and dedicated LZs, same thing applies

Sounds like a Better Patrol system is the answer, not some convoluted work around.

Maybe some kind of subsystem under a patrol tab would work well, still same concept.

No I mean just FIX the Patrol Command so that units don't chase across the planet into the enemy base.

it just bugs me that we will have to find a way to make it harder to snipe commanders. some kind of counter to just pointing a moon cannon in his general direction. a good part of this game is defending the king piece while setting up an attack.

This has never been an issue in theory, just stick your commander on a planet/moon/asteroid with no enemy units on it.

And what does that even have to do with smarter patrols?

So you've quoted the same post twice and posted 2 unrelated comments, I'm not sure what we're even talking about anymore.

An "Anti-move" command would be handy.
