Ok, if something like this has been made before then by all means beat me down and shun me for all time (I'd expect nothing less) We know that Space Ships are (most likely) not happening, this isn't something I have a problem with as a topic I read with some very impressive FanFiction explained/theorised in a very reasonable way why space ships are just not viable. Also the Kickstarter video showed us the Unit Cannon and the Rocket, now my topic for discussion is based upon these. How do we think unit transport will work/come together in the game? I personally think we'll find the Unit Cannon will have a very limited range and mainly used to get units from an orbital body (I.E a moon or asteroid) to a planet surface and of course visa versa. As for the Rocket it of course only showed one or maybe a couple of units being transported at a time but, I suspect, over a much greater distance. Now we have also heard that Teleportation is confirmed but its manner is, as of yet, unknown, but that is of course another option for long range unit transportation. Mostly my question is based from an Assault standpoint, however general questioning/discussion about long range transportation is of course more than welcome. From an attacking standpoint though, I'm wondering how I might be able to send an army, or at least a sufficient vanguard force onto an enemy planet en masse. I must also say that I'm working on the grounds of not flinging an asteroid at my for beforehand as, while an obviously awesome strategy, I dont want to base all planetary assaults on smashing something big into it. I like nitty gritty fighting occasionally and am aiming for a discussion on how a player could get their Pre-made army onto an enemy planet to get down to business.
