I think we have all seen these kind of comments before on YouTube. I want to make a playlist of (forgotten) songs that received recent attention due to a movie. Do not post obvious soundtracks, but actual songs you heard somewhere in a movie, video-game, or whatever and just had to look up on the internet.

    I'll start it off.

KC and the Sunshine Band - Give it up

I heard it in Kingsmen and couldn't stand it I couldn't remember the title/artist anymore, so I started Googling on the lyrics.

I have to since it's like 4 months since I heard this song, and I'm -still- listening to it regularly.
No Man's Sky's trailer introduced me to 65dos and I'm perfectly happy with that.

I have absolutely NO interest in Metal Gear Solid V, but I suppose the E3 trailer introduced me to this song. Sorta, I mean I already know of Mike Oldfield via my dad's massive collection of vinyl records.

Never played the Metal Gear games, and watching my obsessively-MGfanboy roomie play through 4 was like "Eh, it looks alright but not for me."
Feels like the series is far more convoluted than it needs to be and has a bit too much of that japanese batshit-weirdness for my taste.

Neither have I but this looks quite different from the rest considering it's open world. And besides the frankly hilarious mechanic of being able to Fulton air-recover anything and everything, the "extended features" of the cardboard box, and the nonsensical mute sniper who's apparently too cool for chest apparel, I haven't seen any Japanese weirdness.

Have you seen that base mechanic? Players use stuff they Fulton'd to set up an offshore platform with guards and defences and stuff. And you can go out to another player's base and steal their stuff with the magic of Fulton air-recovery.

Also AI will adapt to what you do. Like if you keep using the tranq gun for headshots they all start wearing helmets. No idea just how deep that system is but it's pretty cool nonetheless. The game's surely worth keeping an eye on.

It was the **** in 1999. It was one of the first popular games in North America to be over convoluted and japanamaniac batshit wierd.

If it wasn't for it, you would likely not have dead space, modern warfare, and others. I can only accredit their style to time tested mgs.

Then again, I remember the NES Metal Gear. I LOVED the original Metal Gear Solid. 2 and 3 were both so unique as to be interesting. The only other one that was that unique, was Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, which was an interesting change of mechanics with similar style, it was only a Metal Gear game because it attached itself to the storyline of Metal Gear when really it could have been a different game on it's own.

It is a good series. It just became too mainstream. It was still creative to this day though, if any crummy overhyped mainstream game deserved to keep cranking out sequels, it was Metal Gear. Metal Gear X Farcry3 i.e. Metal Gear 5, was a good concept.

I never said I thought it was a bad game, I respect it: it just doesn't do anything for me personally.

I'm not sure if this totally counts, Lennard, but I had to look it up because I couldn't believe it was real!

    WARNING: not PG:

The funniest cover of any song I've ever heard. Thank you Dawn of The Dead.

I respect that. By the way, what happened to your last avatar? Was a decent cosplay actually. Pitgirl ftw. Couldn't do a better character myself (besides voice, I can do Leo's voice to a dime)

2 great songs there :) I also had to check out 65dos after seeing No Mans Sky (so looking forward to that).

As for Mike Oldfield, really like his stuff in general.
