I picked up the game yesterday after watching the PAX gameplay. Thing is, I can run large planet/bot player matches fine. It doesn't take too long to load, framerate is fine, etc. I've uploaded my DXDIAG, and will post some random stats at the bottom of the post. Mp for me is borked though. The PA process memory usage doesn't do anything different than SP, and I end up staring at a white screen, non responding window until I die, then I see the you've died screen, and it works fine. The only two possibilities I see are: 1) When I watch the task manager, the UI tasks take up a lot more memory in MP than SP for me. Probably not it, but odd. 2) I'm on a college network, so it's possible that I'm just not connecting properly. That would suck, but it makes sense. Any feedback would help. Love the game otherwise :3 Memory: 6144MB RAM WIN 7 SP1 64bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz Card name: AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series
What happens when your press F5 (reload UI)? You are right though, there shouldn't be any difference between MP and SP. What happens when you start a MP game yourself and wait for others to join?
I haven't tried reload UI. Would I just press it while I'm staring at the loading part? >.> I've hosted MP games before, but always waited for people to load in before starting it. If you mean firing a game before anyone joins, and having them join in progress, no, I didn't think of that. I also do have this issue when I join someones game. When I do 1v1s it does SOMETIMES just work though, so idk. I'll try your suggestions in a little bit and report back.
Well, you press it when you are stuck at the white screen. It's the equivalent to a switch kick in the butt to get things going again. And yeah, I meant waiting for the lobby to fill and then start. I gather that didn't make a difference.
