According to this article at GameInformer.com, the CEO of one indie dev studio is asking another to stay in Massachusetts versus moving to Rhode Island. Why would the indie dev want the other to stay? Wouldn't that mean they wouldn't have to compete for talent? Or does the idea of more big game studios mean that more outside talent is likely to move there?

Bigger development community means more talent and a draw for new talent to move there. In the Seattle area there are about 50 development houses all within miles of each other. So it's a great place to be for example if there were layoffs in one studio and you needed to find work quickly without having to uproot your family and move to a new city.

In their letter they said that if they move, They will be leaving behind most of the development team currently working on their game and will make the rest of development complicated with unintended results.

The indie dev must have been looking forward to the game and is trying to prevent any mistakes that would be made by moving.

Also right at the end he said "If anyone on the talented 38 Studios team wants to stay in Massachusetts, they're more than welcome to join the team at Demiurge Studios" So he was trying to get some experienced members on his team through a innocent act.

I didn't know Irrational Games changed their name back to "Irrational Games" It's good to know though.
