In Regards to "Flat" Shadowless Night

    I think lights could do a lot to make up for this. Nanolathing could perhaps emit a green glow, buildings could have stationary lights at night, and some buildings maybe even rotating / oscillating lights. Not overdone, because it would just be annoying, but I think it would help with the flat appearance of night.

    Also, would dynamic shadows based upon these light sources cause a major performance hit? I think that would look fantastic, if doable.

    Yes. Shadows should work when you turn on the max detail setting for headlights, though I'm not sure if they actually do. Shadows don't yet work on point lights, only on projected lights (like headlights).

    Can confirm that there is no shadows from headlights at moment. :(

    Thanks for the reply. I know it's still alpha and there will be new features added in regards to graphics, but the game already looks great. I can't wait to see it in full screen after it is optimized, with all the eye candy turned up.
