~ in password doesnt allow me to log on

Every time i try to log on in the PA alpha screen, the tild in my password opens up a command prompt type thing in the program, and doesnt put the tild in. Copy and pasting it in doesnt work either...

I was hoping someone could point out a simple work around this im missing?

Simple: change password to one without tild.

Geeky one: edit /media/ui/alpha/start/start_alpha.html and put your password inside somehow.

Im might just be being dim, but where do i put that link?
