In a pinch: export the system, edit the file, and import it again.

I would like to use Linux but I can't do to special software that only runs on Windows and Mac. Which makes me sad.:(

True, but notepad++ is free software and does everything that gedit has. Its one of the best open source text editors on Windows. Also my preferred one.;)

Might as well throw sublime into the ring. gedit is good, but the windows port is buggy.
